LOL! Well Jersey I am sure you will make the right choice. You seem like a sensible lad. Syd is definitely right that having Durham on your CV will stand you in good stead for the rest of your career. Good luck to you.
Good luck Jersey. What are you hoping to study? BTW Durham is very tough to get into but worth it. Great city, great pubs and just down the road from the SoL. Oh and you are not far from the jewel of the north - Coxhoe.
Durham is a great place especially when the gala is on in July plus they have a regatta on the river. The colleges are named after the halls of residence. If you are are lucky you might see the castle fall into the river for the 3rd time.
I'll think you find Bowburn has a much superior facilities, such as the library, not to mention its provocative church architecture.
Bowburn/Coxhoe let's not split hairs! Coxhoe is very up and coming so I'm told. Anyone remember the Black Horse at the top end?
I've applied for Modern Languages (French, Spanish and beginners' Italian), I've got an offer for AAB as opposed to Lancaster for ABB, both do-able. Still mulling it over, fortunately I don't have to decide for the next few months! The main thing that's making me not scream "DURHAMM!!!" is all the traditionalism of it, the school I go to is pretty much Hogwarts already, I'm not sure if I can take another 4 years of it!
Good to see a young lad getting his head stuck in to the books and making the best possible choices for his future. Getting good grades like that and into a good university will only help you get out ahead of the pack in this time of job uncertainty. I have a feeling whichever choice you make will be the right one, good on ya mate!
Jersey, no matter which course you finally end up on I can assure you that university life is nothing like school! The BEST years of your life are coming up (mine are only a distant memory sadly) so just make sure you enjoy every minute of it.
