Off Topic Anyone here have anything against honest manual labour? (OT)

I shouldn't care, and part of me is yelling this. I'm normally the type of bloke that says "i like what i like, if people don't like it **** them", and if i got a girlfriend and people didn't like her then i couldn't give a toss, but i'd like my future girlfriend to be able to tell everyone what her boyfriend does with pride.

It's more caring about the girlfriend, not my feelings.

It depends what way you look at it. If you sit around waiting for a £50k a year job to find you then you'll die a very poor man. Take what you can while the going is good. It's easier to get a new job if you're working if that makes any sense to you.

In terms of brilliant jobs, mine is bottom of the pile. I've got a pretty crappy contract, but I basically get paid to sit around and do very little work, watch the football, drink tea, read and eat biscuits. It would be an amazing job if it wasn't for the customers. A monkey could do my job, but I'm not ashamed of what I do, I just get on with it because they put money in my bank account every month. And that's what you've got to think about in the short term.

 

Of course , only the thickheads do the manual work, thats human nature, somebody has to do it and anyone with any brains works his way out of it, thats why we used to have an exam system, nowadays everyone passes the exams so now the playing field is level then human nature takes over and the people with brains gradually come out on top and the thicko's stay where they are, digging holes, it's common sense.

You're right might, i know i'm just thinking of it in a stupid way. Anyway, chances are i'm just getting my hopes up of getting a lass anyway, my face is almost as ugly as the average mackem lol

 

I can understand where Tash is coming from to a certain extent though, sometimes people have preconceptions about certain jobs. My dad worked in manual labour for 40 years, and hated every minute of it. He therefore stressed to me the importance of education from a very young age (not to say that this was the right thing to do). Ironically he never judged anyone by the job that they had, except me!

I think he just wanted to give me what he saw as the best opportunity to be successful, wanting me to avoid an experience such as his own. Luckily it worked out and I love my job, but I know from experience that it isn't for everyone.

 

Sometimes I perform auto-fellatio to free up both hands, with the webcam switched on for AH of course.
