Very poor by our standards, still manage to beat the most fortunate of semi-finalists as I remember :azn:

The sign of stupidity is when someone asks if anyones thinking of following England to Russia. With Southgate at the helm short trip.

If the question was, anyone fancy going on the lash in Russia whilst laughing at the England team, then that sounds like a proper boys trip to me

Yup London, really fortunate to make the semi finals - losing to you in the group stage showed us how bad we really were. <laugh>

Never mind, we beat Slovakia and N. Ireland, hammered Russia 3-0 and then stuffed Belgium 3-1 in the Quarters. That must have been lucky I suppose but at least we didn't go home early.

Before I say any more though, let's see what happens tonight! <yikes>

I doubt tonight will be easy but if we do it, I reckon we'll give any of theose seeded countries a bloody good testing over 2 legs. <ok>

While you might give any of them a good game, can't see you beating any of them personally.

You're probably right, but nobody thought we'd beat Belgium in the Quarters either.

That wasn't a fluke result - we beat them in the qualifiers for the tournament when they were ranked No.1 in the world at the time.

Let's just get through tonight and worry about it then. <ok>

Chesh - just had a look at our group table (below) and didn't really realise all the options.

As long as we win tonight we could even win the bloody group. Maybe a longshot, but if Serbia fail to beat Georgia that would be the case.

Even if the Serbs are held to a draw and we beat Ireland by more than a single goal, we'll finish top on GD. <yikes>

FIFA Ranks mean nothing,Belgium have never been one of the worlds best, the Swiss were the same in last WC qualification in Englands group.

You'll never understand what it takes to be a true supporter if you calculate it in terms of time & money. <doh>
