A rather ironic quote there Northolt - We've got the richest board in World football and they won't open their holes...
Good luck to Leicester, I for one am glad we're not competing with them in the Championship as they may be hard to stop. Saying that, If they don't go up next season, imagine the debt
Best of luck to Leicester City and it's fans cos they're gonna need it. They've invested in the weakest link imo... S V E N G A L I I think very s l o w l y. I speak quietly. I can h y p n o t i s e people very good. It pays me to do it this way. I use my quiet charm to generate other people's money. Lots and lots of money. I am not a good manager but I make people think I am. That's the trick... the illusion of intelligence! Yes... the illusion. Very good. There are 22 players in my football teams. The prima donnas are the best ones. They are my friends. We make a lot of money together. First we sign these players, big names are best. We don't do tactics, we play with our famous names. When the season starts, we win a few games. Then maybe we lose a few. That's football. I don't do passion either and nor do my teams - and I don't like to change too much when things go wrong because it will upset my prima donnas. Manchester City? That was different. We just keep winning points... don't know how but we win and then I still get the sack! Very strange - just shows it's true... good or bad, in football nothing you do really matters. I haven't got a clue really but I make lots of money and I do it very quietly. End of the day, when I don't know what to say, I just say nice things. I'm just here for the ride. For me, it's a good life, always!
Truth is, I'm pretty indifferent to whether Leicester is successful or not. I would prefer that the three clubs that go up to the Prem next year get there by skill rather than wheelbarrow loads of dosh. Now that the r's have gone up, I feel I have the best of both worlds. Gonna be fascinated by the Prem obviously, and the tension is going to start to mount over the next few weeks leading up to the start of the season (particularly if we pick up one or two more good signings) - but equally, I'm really interested to see how the Championship goes too. With no disrespect to West Ham, Birmingham and Blackpool, I hope there are no obvious "bounce-back-ups" but rather at least a dozen clubs all vying for top spot. So, with the action from two division to look forward to, it occurred to me...how dull it must be, to be a Manu fan...
There's no guarantee of going up, look at Middlesbrough last season, they were relegation candidates up until March...
O'Neill lined up to replace Eriksson at Leicester . Martin O’Neill is being lined up to make a sensational return to Leicester City. There are serious concerns inside the ambitious Championship club that current boss Sven Goran Eriksson is not the man to inspire City’s promotion push. The Thai investors, who masterminded their takeover last year, have shown they are prepared to invest in the team, but believe that there must be a immediate bolt for the top flight. If Eriksson can mastermind a run of victories, the former England manager may still hang onto his job. But if the board decide a change must be made, then ex-Foxes boss O’Neill is the man they will turn to. O’Neill is still revered in Leicester from his five years as boss from 1995. He guided the club to promotion to the Premier League and two League Cup finals, lifting the trophy in 2000. O’Neill has been out of work since leaving Aston Villa 13 months ago and has so far rejected any new job offers Read more: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Sve....l#ixzz1XadJCSrB Sign up for MirrorFootball's Morning Spy newsletter Register here iReader
They've spent loads, much of it over the top on prices, look at Matt Mills, and are proving that it takes more than just money to get up...
They still should go up sooper, got some serious talent there, they should do this and get rid of Sven.
Money seems to talk today but SE thinks any club he is at should be run like Milan .... If it works them they are geared for what? It has to be sustained . Preparation is one thing but you then have to prove it and with that cones an extra desire for others to not allow that to happen ... They put themselves up there to be shot down Never understood SE but I love Saabs
I still think Sven can turn it around. I don't think Leicester should hit the panic stations yet. In 06/07 Sunderland lost all 4 of their first 4 games and then cake walked the division. Southampton should be okay but Brighton will run out of steam sooner or later and probably fade into the playoff positions whilst West Ham really start to pick up speed. A lot of the favourites have started poorly and I feel everybody bar 4 or 5 sides is in contention still
Brighton I believe could win it they are a great team and the club set up is more premier league than most in the championship they are very difficult to beat very very good team
