They will be there allright Belfast. I estimate at least 100 Irish R's heading over from every corner of the island. Most will be in Hennessys I expect. I know some of the N.I. hoops are meeting in the Crown in Cricklewood.
I am missing out as Eurostar last minute is a killer on the wallet. Will be watching in a pub, probably my favourite, Rush Bar, in Paris and should get a few friends along to convert them to blue and white hoops!
I'll be en route to Frankfurt from Osaka probably over Russia. If I can get the crappy wifi on board to work hope to follow some kind of text service on line, but it's far too weak for a stream. When Roller said to Nines and me that he fancied a day out at Wembley a few months ago I was sceptical, but it seems to have helped us rediscover our enthusiasm for this team, park our memories of a less than delightful season and really get behind the club. Brilliant. Wish I could be there, but at least I got to the Wigan game at LR. I can sense the excitement on this board from thousands of miles away. Those of us going, sing til your lungs burst. You Rsss!!!
I posted on another thread that I can't make it due to a cousins wedding I will be attending this weekend. Another poster commented that I must have loads of cousins and there is only one QPR, well I agree with that. Trying to wriggle out of going has already caused me too much pain and arguments with family. To make matters worse I can't watch the game on TV.
You could always take a small radio and earpiece with you. Just be careful. With your luck the priest will say "I now pronounce you man and wife" and your voice will echo from the back "YES. Get in there!!!!" as the Rs score at precisely the same time. Bride's mother will not be happy.
Or when the priest asks if there is anyone present who knows why they shouldn't get married! I'm gutted that I'm also missing out, but my trip this year is to go and see my Mum get married in August. And catch a game!!
There seems to be quite a crowd of us not able to make it. Despite my son and I being season ticket holders, we have to be at my niece's wedding. We got one of those "save the day" cards about 18 months ago, so there's no excuse. I seems the niece in question forgot to send Harry a copy of said card. Enjoy a great day all you attendees!
Lol, we score just at that moment and I jump up and shout out "F*ck Yes". This would void me having to attend any more cousins weddings in the near future.
To all of you R'ss who cannot be with us, I promise you that I will sing loud enough to make up for you not being there. My sympathy for your not being able to get there but we will do you proud, win or lose.
Here in Atlantic Canada, 4 hours behind UK time, it is an 11:00am kick-off, and I am attending my oldest daughter's university graduation ceremony at 1:30pm, a couple of hours drive from my home, so it could be rather difficult to follow the match. The match is likely not aired here on TV, and even if it was and I could PVR it, after the fact, it would be very hard for me to put the blinkers on, not go to BBC Sports or here, and watch later. I do have a plan to try and travel up early on Sat, to be at my destination by the 11:00am ko time and hopefully pick up the Bet365 live stream using the wi-fi at my daughter's flat, although she has mentioned that she needs to be on the university campus early by 12 noon for dress rehersal - only a 5 min drive away, which would fit in nicely with the half-time break at Wembley. After all these years, the rest of my family still cannot appreciate my extreme preoccupation in following this particular very important match, but I guess family does come first. If they can save me a seat, perhaps I can sneak in a little late, but if we go to extra time, penalties etc. that would be very difficult, although if that scenario does occur, my saving grace could be that my daughter has already told me that her graduating group will be one of the last to pass onto the stage to receive their degrees. So as you can see I am desperately trying to work out all the angles for Sat, to follow the match and still keep the rest of the family happy.
Unfortunately it was a choice of home semi or final for me due to limited funds. I'll enjoy watching it on TV as I'll be able to see the game clearly and have lots of leg room. I hope everyone going enjoys the game.
Ill health cost me a planned trip to Europe this spring - in fact our return date was last Sunday. Ill health, and associated costs if I had needed emergency work would have kept me out of England this week too (although I feel great at the moment, that can change in about 20 minutes) So I wouldn't have been able to go even if the cash flow issue wans't an issue. I'll save up for our Champion's League title in a year or two My choir is singing Beethoven's Ode to Joy on Friday - I hope I am still feeling like that on Saturday afternoon. COYRs
