I think you missed the point mate. Proud states it was probably your toss defense that was responsible for Kasper letting in 70 goals last season and that the blame doesnt solely rest on the Keepers shoulders... It's a point that is backed up by you conceding 5 goals in two game to two teams that 3 months ago were in League 1 and League 2.

I just don’t understand it from either perspective. We want Maynard to provide fire power. You have Pittman who most of you say will bang the goals in. You need a defence and despite your claims that your chairman is insanely rich he seems to refuse to part with physical cash. Our club is offering you a significant amount of ‘disposable’ cash for an asset you believe you can survive without and the money could prove useful to plug up your defence. Maynard would get more money (which footballer doesn’t like that) and most neutrals will say an ‘better’ chance of promotion with us this season. For me it’s a no brainer – BC win and LC win! So why hasn’t the deal been made!
I read on your forums that you offered him the clubs best ever contract - which was around £15,000/week? Also just to point out that we pay Matt Mills £30,000/week and he is a defender. Strikers ususlly take the bigger pay chques. Also last year we paid a reported £50,000/week for Yakubu - so i really do think he would recieve better wages at ours. If a prem team wanted him - they would have made a move when us and forest started making offers!
I think our biggest rival for Nicky Maynard is Southampton after they have the money from selling Chamberlain to Arsenal. But I am sure on wages we can still blow them out the water and on fees more then match them
