A familiar trick in the fashion industry to turn darkies into lighties and fatties into skinnies. 99% of high end fashion magazines still don't put proper black burds on their covers. Same with chubby models as they don't sell as well.
Pop into your local WH Smith and take a gander at the magazines directed mainly at the laydeez (Cosmopolitan, Grazia, Vogue etc) and they are invariably adorned on the front cover by a stick insect of a woman who is almost always a honky. The only time they feature chubsters is to make some sort of statement but these are very few and far between. And the reason? Aspiration. These magazines sell an image and lifestyle that women strive for and the message is loud and clear. You want to be white, you want to be thin. It's the same for Mens Health and other fitness magazines directed at us chaps. Almost always a white dude showing off his six pack on the front cover, never a kebab eating gutlord and at best you might get a slightly more tanned model. We are meant to aspire to look like Brad Pitt rather than Rab C Nesbitt. Even some top women's magazines have been called out for over-editing photos to get rid of blemishes and making the models even thinner.
