    Mush

If the Ethernet cable isn't making any difference, you could have a problem that I had last year.

I'm fairly thick when it comes to this sort of stuff but the guy who arrived to fix it was intent on teaching me, it had something to do with noise, measured in dBm. When there's too much noise on your line, or your attenuation is too high the engineer literally has to turn up with a bit of kit to get it back down again. Apparently this is the problem with near enough every single household in the UK that complains of slow download speeds but the big companies will never admit to it. I think there's a test you can do to see how much noise is on your line, but having written all that, I'm not sure it would apply to fibre optic broadband and whether it works in the same way, told you I was thick!

Reckon so mate! And if not, means summats made me really wanna stay here, win/win!

Yeah, i know what that is, I do think it only applies to 'phone line' stuff, but I'll have a look into it.

I'll try anything, I need it sorted ASAP!

You have me on yer phone ya fecking numpty, I just told you to stop trying to chat me up on Whats App!

    Did you get it sorted?

    The App was WifI Analyzer.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEsImNvbS5mYXJwcm9jLndpZmkuYW5hbHl6ZXIiXQ..

Sounds to me like an iffy router or settings.
You will get a flying download on speedtest but slow over all.
I got a similar problem with the SuperHub a hard reset cured it.
With the above App it will tell you what your channel is and how strong your signal is.
Also it will point you at any open connections. <ok>

I was getting over 50 Mb on my phone over WiFi.

My neighbour cancelled Virgin over a bill dispute.
Went to BT and is now trying to get back to Virgin.
His download and even connections were dropping constantly.
Probably doesn't help that BT routers are open WiFi spots for BTs roaming wireless service.
You can only get so much Data down a phoneline.

Is it a black shiny lump with a lit up blue Virgin logo?
If so a hard reset can be done by the button at the back.
I would unplug it from the net and the power for 5 minutes too.

Well if you will buy Mickey Mouse phones. :p
The boy has just got the Iphone5, tried to show me how good Siri was and it failed every time he asked it something. hahahaha.
S voice on my Samsung S3 was spot on.
(Yeah I do know overall Siri is better when it is working. :p )
Plus my screen blows away his little screen. :)

I changed the SuperHub to the 5Ghz band as his phone preferred it. It doesn't seem to have the range of 2.4Ghz though.
Left the wireless extender upstairs at 2.4Ghz as my Epad and laptop only do that band.

Aye it's one of those black things mate, you mean actually press the reset button rather than just turn it off?

Should point out this is for laptop use, not mobile, I have unlimited data off o2 anyway.

Obviously I download a lot of music, and this is quite a big issue for me.

Yep reset it whilst still turned on then unplug and leave for 5 minutes.

No matter what anyone says all internet providers have a list of sites they cap as standard.
Legit music sites shouldn't be on the list.
There are a few dodgy sites I go to can only be reached by using a proxy server.

Just rang my mate total apple fanboi as I knew he had WiFi Analyzer.
You can only get it if you have a Jail Broken phone.
He doesn't see the irony in this, that Apple are deciding what he can and can't do with his phone and he has had to hack it. <rofl>

    I'll try it.

I only use legitimate sites mate, I have friends who are producers, I wouldn't dream of not paying for music, I think p2p is fine for personal use, but no if you are earning from the music.

I only use Traxsource & Juno.

I get send promo stuff, you don't get it from DL sites, it's generally email links from labels etc, but they are massively protected & digitally watermarked, if I give up the log ins etc, I'll be blackballed instantly!

    Hahahaha
Like I'm going to steal the **** you listen too. :p

I was just thinking if the reset doesn't work, you may need to change the download port on your computer, which can bypass network bottle necks.
