I don't think I'd be that interested in Nuge to be honest.. good player but rumoured to be on £15k+ at Leicester and he certainly isn't worth that <ok>

I think we should learn from 'Chopra gate' and move on from continually chasing the same targets for years on end..

Also Cressy wouldn't leave us for anything other than Prem

Not sure what to make of this one, sounds like he divides Bristol fans. As I've said in the past I often think Micks transfer dealings are solid if not spectacular, I'm sure he'll add something to the team though, has to be better than N'Daw though!!

Mick & Terry are the masters of squeezing every ounce of ability out of a player, I am sure that is what is/will make us a more attractive option now in the coming months.!

As I've said before, sometimes a player is only as good as the manager that uses him.

Having read a few of your comments I shall give you a honest review on Skuse.

"seems like a bit of a leader" - This couldn't be any more wrong. He is anything but a leader. Very quiet player and does not pump the team up. He is a follower if anything.

"My only hope is he can put a tackle in and cover the ground like N'Diaw.. but he can also pass the ball and has something between his ears" - He is a good tackler but who ever told you he can "pass a ball" is a complete liar. He isn't creative at all. He won't play amazing balls that split defences or chip balls, Nothing fancy. He will pass it sideways and backwards. All ways a safe pass. Covers a lot of ground but gets beaten quite regularly and tends to "give up once he has been beaten"

"I like him, always thought he was a steady player, a bit like N'Daw but with the ability to pass the ball." - Again don't know where this "ability to pass" has come from. you're not getting a creative player who will get loads of assists. You're getting a player who will pass sideways and backwards, Nothing fancy.

"At 6'1" he'll add a bit of height to the team too." - <laugh> He might as well be 5ft. He isn't strong in the air I can guarantee you he will never score a header for you! He isn't a physical player either but he wont get pushed around like a lightweight

So you will be getting a championship midfielder. He wont have you on the edge of your seat with excitement. You'll see the odd sliding tackle every now and then. Wont score you goals and defiantly wont assist them. He will give his all for you though. Wont stop until the 90th minute. A good signing on the free.

I think what i meant about the passing is that he will look to keep ball, rather than try a pass above his ability. Ball retention is something that we are lacking, so if he comes in and wins it and passes to somebody who can do the defence splitting pass is what we need.

Sounds like you guys have got your own Bradley Johnson from ShinyCityLad's comments. He's been a huge player for us this season, and I think having someone prepared to get stuck in, break things up and then keep the passes simple, helps to provide the foundations on which you can build attacks.

Shiny, someone on otib posted the stats from last season, cba to find the thread to be honest but out of all of our players this year he completed the most forward passes. He can pass with both feet short and hit a decent long pass too. Our problem is that the players he's been passing to were dog **** this year <laugh>

by the sounds of things he's an average player that's been playing in a below average/dire team this season..

I think we can take some positives in that he won't be as big a disappointment as the likes of Grant Leadbitter (£2.6million) et al. and that with a decent team around him and some good man management he could be a handy player at this level.. which will be very welcome indeed (particularly if it isn't costing us millions to bring him here) <ok>

Thanks Shiny, when we say he can pass we are comparing him to N'Daw and if you'd ever seen him play you would agree I'm sure!!

Sounds like a standard Mick signing to me, probably pretty average nothing to get excited about but I'm sure he'll be decent for us. Mick goes for the solid if not spectacular players, which is something which has annoyed me about him as a manager, he rarely seems to buy players with alot of ability he just goes for solid ones which I think is why he's never really stepped up in the PL, when he has the ability to do so!!
