Will he stay will he go?

Sunderland forward Ignacio Scocco claims he plans to have talks with the club in the summer over his future.

The 28-year-old was a January addition to Gus Poyet's squad but a lack of fitness upon arrival, coupled with finding adjustment to the pace of the English game tough, has seen the Argentinian struggle to make any kind of an impact on Wearside.

Whilst he insists his main focus remains to earn a regular berth in Sunderland's side, he will seek end-of-season talks to clarify his future.

    He told Argentinian radio:

I have a contract at Sunderland. When the season is finished I'll talk to the coaching staff and manager, and see what to do. I have two more years under contract here.

I'm working hard to try to help keep us up first. We are well positioned now, we are going in the right direction. It's the first time that I have had to fight relegation and it is quite stressful!

I had a sprained ankle that took all preseason to recover and I lost a little ground. I came here looking for continuity, so I want to talk to the manager. After that I will make a decision.
Scocco is definitely a very talented player, but he was always an odd January signing, especially given Poyet admitting himself that he didn't expect him to make an real impact until next season.

However, if Poyet has earmarked him for a bigger role next season and always did, then it would be even stranger to see Scocco leave this summer. It would make it quite literally the most pointless signing ever. Well, except Simon Johnson, perhaps.

Generally speaking this summer, I think that disruption has to be minimized considering how many out-of-contract and loanees there are at the club. That means keeping what we can and adding to it rather than going down the total overhaul route, so hopefully Scocco will be given a chance and do well. If Santiago Vergini can, no reason he can't too

Our only defender to make no defensive errors this season. Who knows what the crack is. He not set the world on fire but he literally hasn't put a foot wrong

Think it was because as soon as Bardo came in we looked a bit more of a unit, language barriers may have been a problem?

Personally think hes a good player who likes to get up the wing and help

Would be a good squad addition

    Yeah, I don't get this one,at all.

For me he's very tidy, supports the midfield, delivery is good and early, and he's solid defensively, it makes no sense that he hasn't been used.

He's snuck back on the bench, maybe there has been summat behind the scenes, I dunno, but for me he had a definite shot, I reckon he may well end up in England anyway.

Celuksta started off great, but then it seems any ball control and crossing ability he had disappeared
