I've kinda had one which didn't really count whilst playing at Whitburn. Shanked me tee shot way off to the right into the rough on a par3 on the back 9 (14th I think) so I hit a provisional off the tee...which landed very nicely on the green and trickled into the hole, trouble is I got down the bank and found me first tee shot (hadn't gone in the rough thankfully) so had to play that but got up and down for par . The lads I was with were all shouting for me to get the beers in which I said I would be happy to do if they marked me down for an eagle ....they didn't!
At risk of being called a heretic or something, playing golf is a waste of a good walk. Golf courses would be ripe for some nice new housing estates....
The last time I played Golf, I was well hacked off. Had just got to -8 for the round when the PS3 crashed. Got to admit, it put me off playing golf ever again...
I`m actually a PGA Professional, what do you want to know? Teaching. equipment, lessons. I can guide you in the right direction if you want. I am no longer in the North=East but i can point you to the correct lads that wont rip you off.
ok. the tips that seems to help most people are.... learn how to hold the club correctly. seems obvious but 99% of golfers have a bad grip. and its so easy to fix keep your head stable, not still. your head will move tiny bit, maintain your spine angle. you must maintain your spine angle through impact. If you lift you spine through impact it will open the blade of your club and the ball will go to the right. This is the most common problem i see!!!! bend from your hips at address, not your tummy. You should feel like you are slightly pushing your backside up and away from you. maintain the flex in you knees. on the backswing...At addess, Stand tall, flex your knees gently and bend from you hips. If you do it correctly you will feel a small pressure in the small of you back and your weight will be on the balls of your feet. You body should feel balanced and alive. Maintain the flex in your right knee on the backswing. If it straightens in the backswing you will activate a reverse pivot and the ball will start left and the veer off to right, viciously! Give them a go Where do you live? Ideally go and have a lesson. £20 for an hour will seem like a bargain at the end of it. I can point you in the direction of common sense, not too complicated teaching professionals Have fun!!! Regards Kev
cheers friend superb ..you know ya stuff ha ha ..any tips on keeping spine angle ..thats what i was meaning , when i said lifting up ..at the start of the thread ha ha .. i live in stakeford area m8 thanks again
feel like you are keeping the top of your sternum facing the ground as you swing the club down, across and through. If you do it correctly, you will feel your forearms roll over through impact, as your right hand rolls over your left. This is the "release".!! It will generate a lot more clubhead speed that just lashing at it. With very little effort you can generate a lot of speed.. Dont forget to finish well. Let the club`s momentum take you through to a nicely balanced finish, pose for the camera we say!
