He's ****ing around with gas pipes. Bob does not care about safe.

The surest thing is to leave it to a certified gas fitter, but having said that, close the supply then light the oven to burn away the gas in the pipe.

 

I can remember many years ago a British Gas fitter doing this for me (pre bayonets).....his way of testing for leaks was a lighted match round the joint of the cap..........how things change !! I would say DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME
