We were the worst Premiership winners last season, apparently. Nevermind that we also reached the Champions League final We could well break the all time points record for a single season and still the usual idiots will refuse to give us any credit.
We were far worse in 2005 too. We finished bottom of our Champions League group and 3rd in the league. The seasons that followed have brought us 3 Champions League finals in 4 years and 4 league titles in 5 years (possibly 5 in 6). We have a very young side, overall. Plenty of potential.
True but in 03/04 we had David Bellion, Eric Djemba-Djemba Kleberson all signed in that summer but failed to deliever perhaps the pressure got to them.
They weren't good enough. Fergie has made his fair share of mistakes but they all came at once. The signings he's made recently have all been gilt edged. I expect the summer he will address the CM department, not bad considering this probably should have happened two seasons ago.
Whatever it was it was awesome. I'm just not sure he would have put that much power behind it if it was a cross. My interpretation of the 50-50 was he started out attempting to cross and halfway through his swing he changed up his mind. If he had intended it to be a shot he would have most likely tried hit it near post. Regardless, when it went in I was all like
I just think he thought I'm going to drill this at the far post / corner, if someone gets a touch then great but if they don't then it still might go in. That how I interpreted his '50-50' comment .
This He'd been floating and whipping crosses in all day and the big Blackburn defenders had been dealing with all of them. I reckon he figured he'd just bullet that one at the far post with some spin on it and someone would put it in the net. Or the keeper would have to save it and someone would get the rebound. He was obviously aiming for the goal, but he probably expected someone to get a touch on it given how crowded the box was.
