Cant believe I am writing this but I agree with LL. Wood is poor and Ant has a bit of quality. Different types of players and a bit like comparing apples with oranges but Ant was better at what he did. than Wood is at what he tries to do.
Start of the season I called for Antenucci over Wood but the latter of the two grew on me. Chris Wood is far better in my opinion, lots of players seem to struggle in a Leeds shirt when they first join. Wood will have a better second season with us, you see...
Appreciate you've seen more of him first hand so respect your opinion but he's not good enough for me from what I've seen and think we need better if we want to go up. Also I was never comparing him with Wood, who also has his obvious limitations. Wood needs to start finishing the chances he gets from the positions he gets into and if he doesn't we need to replace him as well, difference is that he is still in contract.
I agree. I think Wood's finishing leaves a bit to be desired. We've also been told by Leicester fans that he doesn't work as a lone striker, he's better in a two. But I think Wood seems sharper, he gets into positions to score, he's a poacher and I think with a bit of good service and confidence he'll bag a lot of goals at this level. Antenucci isn't good enough for a promotion team, we all know that. We need better, he's at the end of his contract, and he appears to show no effort whatsoever and never passes. Its really a no brainer to get rid of him.
Fans liked him, granted not all, but I'm not the only one who thought so. http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/antenucci-confirms-leeds-united-exit/?
Not everyone celebrated Woods goal, only about 5 players I think. I do suspect there's been some malice between Wood and Antenucci though. On the other side of coin, I think it was very selfish of Wood not to give Antenucci the chance to go out with a goal, there was nothing to play for. Whelan has been against the Cellino signings since they got here, he waits for any little thing to bag'em, Silvestri, Bellusci, Antenucci, Duke and the others, funny he doesn't do it to Cooper, and he calls himself a Leeds supporter and acknowledges he's a Leeds Legend. He played 2 seasons with 48 appearances for 7 goals, hardly legend status is he; if he's a Leeds Legend the tea lady's a Leeds Goddess, rolled down stockings and all.
He lost his place to Yeboah to be fair halfway through the second season. Prior to that he was about 1 in 3 for goals I reckon
