    All,

Did not anyone attend Trials day at Cheltenham on 28 January? I am considering an AP bet on Midnight Chase in the Gold Cup. Is 16/1 (nrnb) good value. The horse has a good record at Cheltenham and apart from the two at the top of the market there are doubts about the participation of the next couple in the market.

    Any views?

I backed him for the race last year Kenny and although he ran OK I think he is just short of what is required to be in the shake-up. I can see him maybe running 5th or 6th again but difficult to see him placing unless the race really cuts up.

A very good judge I know (odds compiler) has this as his each way Gold Cup selection - you can play him at bigger prices without the NRNB concessions as well as (as far as I know and as far as he has told me) he's a definite runner.
Got a very small interest at 50s...

Also, doubts exist about the top two, one is 12 and the fav has developed jumping issues

Thanks lads; I was away in Koln that weekend and although there are bookies in Germany I went out and got gassed in the 'early' morning so missed the race. My thoughts are based on Grands Crus going for the RSA and Syncronised missing the race or really being a heavy ground horse.

Will give this a bit of thought!!!

Anybody know why Peddlers Cross' price has collapsed for the Arkle? He was 4s yesterday and now 3/1 across the board.

Zenyatta, With Sprinter between 2/1 and 9/4; Peddler's Cross 3/1 (and as low as 2/1 with one bookie);Al Ferof at 5/1 (odd 11/2); what does that tell anyone?
The most idiotic ante-post odds I've ever seen at Cheltenham! Even Arkle was 9/4 ante-post and really only had one horse to beat!
The bookies are laughing at us - they must think we're all ******s! The horses haven't got to Cheltenham yet. I'll be interested in what starting prices are on the day.
    What do you think?

Completely agree. I can see 2 of those 3 being the same price on the day or bigger and thats provided they all make it! Really does look a ridiculous ante-post market

Grands Crus at 30/1 (31) on Betfair for Gold Cup and about 5/2 for RSA. Has a decision been made?

Any information please; thank goodness for early NRNB!!!

Re Grands Crus - Owner has now said the RSA is the preferred choice. I would guess the RSA is a done deal unless something happens to Kauto Star or Long Run.

Re Peddlers Cross - It seems strange because it's a 'Pricewise like' market move and he hasn't said anything as far as I'm aware! Just seemed very strange that he went from 4s across the board to 3s and shorter in a day.

Agree that there's no value there now. The Bookies are just shutting up shop until the day when they'll all be the same or bigger.

Surely Bobs Worth price has to drift now ?
I give this one every chance of running GC close - he missed a few of the fences at Kempton and they came at crucial stages when he was trying to get into the race/mount a challenge, I think he would have been a hell of alot closer to GC had he met those better and he is guaranteed to relish the hill.
May sound a strange thing to say but if Grand Crus, Bobs Worth and Silviniaco Conti all ran in the Gold Cup barring accidents they'd all finish the the first 6 in my opinion....
