Yep funny how no one felt the need to start a thread about that. He can literally do it on his own! Has there ever been to goal before where only one player on a team had yet touched the ball. I mean literally ever?!
No one has ever said they guy isn't talented it's his lack of constancy, application and attitude that lets him down. Brick wall/head banging!!!!! EDIT: Also worth adding it's against a bunch of reserve players! He couldn't do it on a regular basis against top players in a far better league. Just saying!!!!
Beth posted it though on page 3 of the Adel makes his Benfica debut thread. Other than this great goal, one poor corner and a sloppy pen, I don't know how he's doing but he looks in reasonable shape, and if he stays fit he could be playing CL football in February. .
Presume you want Hoilett out the team. 2 goals in 40 games. With that lack of consistency you must be banging your head against the wall. Plus now he suddenly started applying himself fo first time as he realises his 4 year contract is nearly up. Surely your not daft enough to fall for trick Adebayor has pulled a few times. Must be mates with Toilet Oh and by the way it's Portugese 2nd division that Benfica B play. Which is the equivalent of the Championship
I'm fully in agreement that Hoilett is inconsistent too and has been highly frustrating during our time at the club.. I would personally doubt that that the level of competition in the Portuguese second div is anywhere near as close as the championship but why let the facts get in the way of a good story, eh. Your welcome to your opinions Peter but nothing says I have to agree with them and in my opinion (which I'm entitled to) your just looking for an argument cos I don't agree with you. Same as always. Your right and the rest of (or most of) the world is wrong. Well at least I have the ignore button. Thank heaven for small mercies. Have a good xmas!!!!
Now you 2 either know something I don't or you are a little bit racist. Sure it must be the first so will be interested for you to enlighten me as to why the 2nd tier of Portugese football is incomparably worse to the 2nd tier of English football? Why is it that 2nd tier football predominantly Portugese and many Brazilian players is so obviously worse than a league of predominantly British players? I'm also interested to hear the answer considering he scored in 30 seconds and only 2 other players on the pitch and a chance to properly touch the ball. What is it you know about the midfielder who miss placed the pass or the defender He dribbled past or the goal keeper who didn't save it that you know they aren't even comparable of the level of the players in the championship like MK Dons Martin, Kay and Carruthers. I'm sure your not just desperately searching for negatives even when there aren't any and its simply just a ****ing excellent goal. But if Quality Passing wants to throw his toys out the pram because he was in danger of having an ill-thought out and contradictory opinion questioned and he can put a symbol of banging his head against the wall because people don't get his own inherently correct opinion and then step away, then Dumbar i'm sure can step in and educate about the 2nd tier of Portugese football they both know so much about
Woah there Peter, I think using the word "racist" in this context is bit heavy-handed. I think a better word would have been jingoistic rather than racist with the obvious connections of that word. And to be very honest I can see their thoughts on this, and agree with them...The first level in England is better than the Portuguese (if measured by the number of English teams in the KO rounds of the Champions League compared to number of Portuguese teams, over the last few years)...with the knock on effect to the 2nd level....I cannot entirely disagree with their comments. So please do not randomly call people racists for no reason. Cheers Peter
No contest. Adel scored and made fantastic goals for us, and played with exceptional skils not seen in many players, and in none at QPR since Stanley. Mary is in the wrong Manger.
You have to hope, that in 10 years time or 20...Adel does not look back on a career and wish he had not applied himself a lot more. Talented - no doubt but as previous posts have said, lack of application and willingness to run for your team and team mates.
