another 3 points today.

i think its safe to say we are no longer in a relegation scrap.

mcghee has...
*taken 13 points from a possible 18 available since he took charge.
*won 4, drew 1 and lost 1 from his 6 games in charge.
*scored 7 from his 6 games in charge.
*taken 3 clean sheets from his 6 games in charge.
*conceded just 3 goals from his 6 games in charge.

any team with these stats show they are making themselves very hard to beat and if your very hard to beat then you wont be losing games. we are safe. unless mcghee decides to do a derek mcinnes lol

play offs are unrealistic in my opinion but who knows. football is a funny game.

this season....
after 32 games we got 40 points. the team currently in 7th place is on 51 points. we are 11 points away from 7th.

our promotion season....
after 32 games we got 44 points. the team then in 7th place had 54 points. we were 10 points away from 7th.

we are only just 1 point away further from 7th compared to our promotion season. so who knows, it could happen.


however being realistic, top 10 should be our goal looking at our stats under mcghee. if we keep this up and being solid, the mem will be a fortress, no one next season will be looking forward to coming to the mem. next season looks very promising.

anyone else getting excited??

Make no mistake about it, we're on promotion form so I wouldn't be surprised if most gasheads will have one eye on the playoffs (me being one of them) but after today I'm more confident of a top 10 finish which would be a hell of an achievement looking at where we were around Christmas.

17 points from eight games since the Aston Villa game is certainly promotion form on paper. In fact automatic promotion form! Whether that is matched by the performances perceived by the spectators is another matter. But IMO there is pretty much no chance of catching Oxford this year even if that form were closely matched for the rest of the season. McG. has immediately sorted out a tighter defence which was the obvious requirement. As the defensive unit grows in confidence, perhaps they will be able to develop the team to create more chances at the other end.
 
Agree we struggle to score,excellent work rate all around the park.

Poke leaves us in March and I feel he has played a huge part in our change of fortune.

Hopefully we will have accumulated nearly enough points by then to avoid a relegation scrap as we are lightweight in that dept.

Lets hope that Mcghee will put a bid in for Poke and he joins us in the summer.

for the record, i never abused ollie. i was gutted that he was sacked. never stood a chance when we failed to get promoted and then sold roberts and cureton amongst other players as our finances was nearly as bad as yours in 1982.
