Heaton would be perfect back up to Meslier. We need a keeper to invest in Meslier and push him in training but with the ability to displace him if Meslier gets sloppy. It's healthy competition and is good for all the keepers.
Thought Meslier was quite outstanding last night. The relevant adjustments were made, which meant he went longer earlier at times but that eased the presssure on him. As said last week he'll learn from the mistakes and be a better keeper in the long run. Getting Tom Heaton or similar in should only aid his developement.
I also noted he made sure nobody was going to beat him on his near post too Here’s the weekly problem with our kids out on loan: Hosannah must still be injured as not even on the bench for Bradford City Stevens has played first team under Bielsa and on the bench for Bradford City Robbie Gotts started again for Salford Alfie McCalmont started for Oldham Edmondson on the bench in a 4-4-2 ffs for Northampton So far it looks like curtains for Hosannah, Edmondson and Stevens
I think Fulham win that one, which has us looking over our shoulders a bit. We need the win on Tuesday badly.
Sorry Doc. Sounds like a load of bollocks to me. What the difference for him in being no. 2 at villa or at Leeds. And who puts a clause in their contract about not being the no. 3? Seems more likely that it would be that he’s allowed to leave if the opportunity to be first choice at a club comes up.
Next two games are key. If we get a couple of decent results against Southampton and Villa at home then we can relax for the remainder of the season. If we lose the next two then go to West Ham and then Chelsea at home (two teams that beat us comfortably) we might just end up looking over our shoulders a bit.
Bamford tweeted we were robbed making it obvious he meant VAR now the various news outlets are saying his tweet will earn him a ban.
As I have said before on here, there’s a reason why so many Americans own or have shares in Premier League clubs. It will deffo mean changes now Radz is at the table The Premier League has reached a fork in the road when it comes to broadcast deals, with Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani saying that new distribution models must be found to protect clubs against a volatile market. Radrizzani, who is the founder of Eleven Sports and in other roles has negotiated numerous media rights deals, wants clubs to be given an extra say over how games are shown The current UK rights cycle ends next season with the league CEO Richard Masters confirming negotiations will take place later this year. But speaking at the Financial Times Business of Football event, Radrizzani spoke of the possibility of moving to a more digital approach such as the NBA or NFL selling season passes that allow fans access to stream games through official “I think this phase in the market is very crucial," the Leeds United owner said. "We are seeing in France the wrong guarantee gave clubs a very challenging position. This is maybe the moment to look at a new model and change the distribution. "I think the league and the clubs need to be in greater control in the strategy, and build a long-term strategy rather than be in a volatile position where every three years, the market can consolidate or the offer can decrease, or a new player promises a fantastic deal and "We need to be more in control of the strategy and guarantee our revenues. In the end, we are more the promoter of our asset and we need more control in that. Especially in a dedicated phase where we see paid TV revenue going down or staying at the same level most of the time."
It now seems likely that Paddy Bamford is going to get problems for what he said in the post match interview Friday night. Lets face facts though before VAR the rule was if a player is level he is onside, if its too close to call the player is on side. VAR was supposed to be a quick automatic view taken by an algorithm like hawkeye in cricket. Thats how it was sold, and yet we run it different from every other country using it and its a blokes interpretation. Its crap Bamford has had 2 perfectly good goals ruled out: Feet way behind the offside line but his armpit interfered? Feet behind the offside line but his knee interfered. Paddy should have 14 goals
