Just watched mod2 to see what they said about bale holding his face when lucas touched his shoulder, but guess what, not even mentioned.
However... We were shown all of Suarez s little nighles on other players, but we werent shown all of the little niggles that suarez was subjected to without any free kicks. Before the mums come in I am not defending suarez just pointing out the bias actually, **** it i am defending suarez, i would be dishing out cheeky kicks the amount of little niggles that went unpunished today. It cant be sour grapes btw as we won :p

It was plainly clear that Suarez was just trying to teach the Spuds the Argentine Tango.

Good news! Suarez made Garth Crooks team of the week! Here's what he had to say about him.

I think Luis Suarez is fast becoming the most irritating footballer on the planet. The only problem is he's such a good player, as he showed again by scoring and winning a penalty against Tottenham. The moment he gets into that box he is untouchable. If any contact whatsoever is made you run the risk of him going to ground and a penalty being awarded. I can recall former Liverpool strikers Kevin Keegan and Kenny Dalglish requiring the same kind of care and attention - and they weren't bad either!

    Thanks Garth.. <doh>

Crooks always was a complete and utter tool. In his case I believe it's based upon jealousy ie I never was anywhere near as good as Suarez.

    Clearly not his shoulder.

It was a pretty nailed on penalty too, to be fair. However had it not gone to you Suarez would only have had himself to blame, referees are supposed to be on the look out for "unnatural falling"(hence Bale's bookings we're told). In short, I blame Benny a lot more than I blame Suarez or the ref. Some of his behaviour in the game was bizarre though, it's like he was trying to get booked.

Once a player gets a reputation for simulation/diving they are always likely to get a hard time over it, even in genuine circumstances.

Controversy is good news for the TV, and press. There the story's people want to hear, so the BBC are always likely to try and create some, even if there isn't any:biggrin:

I haven't been to Liverpool for a long time, how bad is the actual boycott of that paper? Do the paper shops not even stock it?

Do you think that paper will ever be forgiven, having publicly apologised for there lies, and the fact it is a completely different team of editors/reporters to the ones back in the 80s.

It must cost them a fortune, as I'd imagine that paper is the biggest seller in every other city

I'm glad the motd2 coverage was mentioned.

you could see jason roberts with a wee little smile referring to suarez about how he "found other ways" to give back the stick defenders give when questioned by the presenter.

Neivn basically tried a hatchet job on.

In contrast sky were likcing hole all night so it just goes to show who got the interview eh?

yid... bale dropped. no question. if you can get up and run about, take a free then run the width of the pitch in celebration a minute after it just say something.

the ref was certainly trying his damnedest to get out of there without anything controversial and was picky on stupid things and left other stuff go. I suppose you'll tell me next ekotto was robbed?

Oh and before i forget.. sturridge needs talking to. his diving is pure dirt and it needs to stop. I mean if a player can't shoot you tell him to stop shooting and pass. Bale can flop at a high standard which is why he does it. sturridge just looks bad so he needs to stop it. Yes there was contact but he's got to play through it to get the reward... ie that pen when contact is less but the ref is not wondering if you are a con.

MITO, have to agree with you about Sturridge. Instead of studying Suarez and Bale, I think he's been watching Phil Neville videos!

Can't agree with Yid. Lucas's hand goes nowhere near Bale's eyes. I disagree with the Ref concerning Gerrard's header. Bale doesn't get up high enough. Gerrard clearly heads the ball before any contact with Bale is made. What is Gerrard supposed to do except compete for a ball that is not in anybody's control.

Sure for the pen, Suarez made the most of it but their full back (can't spell his name) knew he'd made a mistake and committed a foul.
