No it is not ok and in a single respect (a big one) you are right. I had a burning bum itch to get out of where I was from as soon as I could - I can very much imagine that the British Army would have been an attractive option had I been born somewhere on the mainland. There is a system in place which offers me adventure and travel, and for any normal adventurous kid, with limited means, it will be a fairly attractive option. In saying that I am trying to recognise that the worst aspect of terrorism (indeed the single most immoral aspect of historical Irish Republican terrorism) is that it targeted civilians, rather than armies. It is no doubt incredibly harsh on the individual involved given that he was not expecting some maniac to come at him - but yes he did sign up to fight, even if he did not expect to do the fighting on a high street of London. Anyway here's a Wikileaks video of Americans killing people from an aeroplane in Iraq (it is ok to kill people somewhere else though, eh?) - and they are treating the thing like an Xbox game, you can hear in their voices the excitement of killing, the agony of waiting for the go ahead from HQ to kill a man clearly dying on the floor. Sorry, after reading over my own post I'd like to clarify that I am not making excuses for some homicidal maniacs killing someone for no good reason on the streets of London. My original comment was referring to Mindy's 'they shouldn't be wearing uniforms' point, and my second point was reinforcing my view that targeting uniforms is a better form of terrorism than the alternative - which distracts from the actual tragedy and, admittedly, is insensitive right now.

I find it amazing that the peoples first reaction to two nut jobs wielding meat cleavers after hacking off someones head ,is to get out their phones and film the killers up close rather than get the **** away from there.
Regardless of the victim being a British soldier, this was a brutal attack. Regardless of the killers colour/race/religion, the death penalty would still be too good for the ****. Seriously sickened that this has happened on our streets.
