I have to say, that I think the Oxford supporters are a bit of an over confident bunch, compared to us! I was reading their Yellows forum and you would think they have already got the playoff place, someone said on there that the final seventh place will be Gills or Crawley, so they even think there better than Crawley
brb some of us have tried to make this thread a bit more sexy by introducing a bit of French. ( not that there was anything wrong with it ) Vous avez echoue lamentablement. Venir sur vous Gills. Steve Evans a une grande gueule - wouldn't you agree ?
Some good results in favour of the Gills tonight... Rotherham lost 0-1, which prevents them closing the gap on us, now 4 points behind and have played a game more than us. Looks like those Oxford fans could be right about Crawley as well, they could only draw and despite being 4 points ahead of us, we still have to meet one another next Tuesday, although they do have a game in hand. IF we could pull off an unlikely win at Cheltenham on Saturday, Tuesdays game could turn out to be another World Cup Final for Mr. Evans
That made me laugh, not quite sure how I overlooked putting it like that! Looking at the table though, I am feeling quietly confident, especially with the way other results have gone. I expect Cheltenham to knock that confidence well and truly out of me. Why you might ask, well in all truth I fancied Cheltenham to follow in the foot steps of Stevenage last season. That is why I was so pleased we beat them way back in August and that very first game of the season.
I'm not so sure that Torquay winning was a good result for us. I'd rather have seen a draw. If we get to the play offs the only side that worries me is Crewe, so I hope they come unstuck sometime soon. My perfect scenario is us beating Crawley at Wembley, and that is a possibility.
I understand what you are saying about Torquay, however, at least it keeps other teams at distance from us, when we (sorry if we) slip up against Cheltenham. I think we have to concentrate everything around that seventh place and anything else is a bonus. As for Crawley I thought it funny you should mention us and them at Wembley. Thinking just yesterday how ironic that would be and can just see something like that happening.
