As much as i quite enjoy starting as underdogs, i just don't understand everyones reasoning for predicting low finishes for us, this time its sky;

Leeds 11th I really don't understand what they base this on. Have they looked at the team playing or just the name of it?

A very pessimistic attitude you have there.

Virtually anyone could get promoted from this league with perhaps a few exceptions, but us, Stoke, Burnley, Blackpool and Swansea have all prooved the so-called experts wrong in the last few years, so forget what Sky, etc are predicting and look forward to the new season with some optimism.
 
Why does everyone care what people think of us? We know we have a team that can at least get in the playoffs, who gives a **** what the others think. Personally I don't mind, just means we'll get more coverage because we'll be classed as a surprise. Just concentrate on us, forget about other teams transfers, opinions etc..

pessimism??? it depends if you give a s**t about the premier league! Personally I prefer real football
 
The Sky prediction really is going for the obvious. All they have done is look at who has bought, who has sold and which clubs are skint. Bingo. I bet it took the guy who did this all of 5 minutes and displays a lack of knowledge.

Im not saying he has underestimated us btw, just it's a lazy effort. I expect Derby to do much better than he suggests for one.

Without a sense of achievement? <laugh>

Building a team and getting it promoted within a season is one hell of an achievement.

Although saying that, Pearson keeping Hull in the top half would be even more of one <ok>

You mean an achievement like taking over the bottom of the table team in the autumn, keeping them up by the skin of their teeth and then getting them promoted the following season when literally the bookies outsiders?

No it isn't. Spending money that the rest of the division cannot compete with isn't achieving. Everyone expects you to walk it now so even if you do, there'll be no reaction to it. You're on a hiding to nothing. If you go up, the press will say "Oh" and if you miss out, they'll have a field day at your expense.

I don't mind if you do go up, I've got nothing against Leicester at all. It's miles away and we've never had any sort of rivalry with you. I thank Leicester for Peter Taylor, Nigel Pearson, Jack Hobbs and Matty Fryatt.

So you're now suggesting that you actually want to finish mid-table to avoid any possibility of getting promotion to the Premier League.

If I felt that way, I think I'd give up.

To be fair, although I dont entirely agree I kind of know what he means. If we do get promoted part of me wont be chuffed about it, some parts were pretty rubbish, such as the big-club biased refs and media, whilst on the flipside we had a few lifetime highs ie the win at The Emirates.
