The successor whilst at the second club signed this player from the former club in 1979 for a then club record fee. This player played in Scotland in the late '80s alongside an England international goalkeeper and European Cup winner. The European Cup was a trophy teams qualified for winning by their respective league, the Champions League was concocted to allow the G14 teams to hoard as much of Western Europe's money until Chelsea, Man City, Atletico Madrid and the bottom falling out of Serie A and the Eredivisie got in the way.
