I saw the Villa v ManU game last year and he played very well. Didn't appear to be an attacking midfielder in that game, more of a holding role as I recall.

He did top the scoring charts for Villa in the reserve league a couple of years ago so maybe he can play in a more progressive role than he has been used for so far?

Whatever his role I think this guy could be an asset.

 

It is good that he has Premiership experience, which can only benefit us in the short and long term.

 

Feel we need to get a another striker or attacking player in but maybe a future replacement for Eustace.

 

Hogg had a cruciate ligament injury and has taken some time to recover. Scored plenty of goals for AV reserves.

 

Pompey fans describe him as a defensive midfielder - future replacement for JE?
