Chris - don't worry - I only close threads if the poster asks me to when they realise they have duplicated and don't want it to continue. I don't believe in censorship for censorship's sake. I would "mod" a blatantly racist, sexist or homophobic comment unless it was on the "bad taste" jokes site when you can get a few things said that might normally make you cringe - I always assume they are posted with good intention

 

Cheers for those who thought that I still had a few marbles left, but my visits are erratic due to the number of things that I am trying to do here. Usually when I press the start button only w_y is around having fought his way round the M25. Of an evening I find that postings can get quite busy after midnight my time, when I crawl off to bed. That does show how the old beeb site failed to meet the demands of the posters. I am more than happy to help Leo, but at present I have enough on my plate.

 

I'd be in favour of anyone who's prepared to take it on, but especially if Leo seconds them, and the modding continues in his style.
I think he has done a fantastic job. One part of the job description which hasn't been mentioned, I don't think, is the way he (and a lot of the other usual suspects) welcome new people on board. I found this very encouraging.

 

Then you will have to vote for Norway as he has told me before that he is a Rocker But will he be able to compromise his principles and be a Mod

Well done, Leo, you do a great job. I think BucksHornet (formerly LeightonHorn, am I right?) has been active for at least as long as me, and obviously Norway would be excellent. I happily second both of them .

Just a thought but a number of boards do have 3 mods, its not the amount of users or problems its about sharing the load. Your choice leo but worth thinking about

 

I`m not sure that being a long serving 606 really counts here , we have a lot of people from the old 606 sure ,but there is a lot more new blood too! which I feel enriches this board futher! and these guys should have a shout as well , Whilst I would be happy to help Leo , and assuming you cant vote for yourself

You're absolutely right, norway, I'm misrepresenting myself here . I'm trying to say we know that these people are committed, and it's all come out wrong . New blood is absolutely essential. Any idea this becomes an Old Boys Club or cliquey must be fought at all costs.
