It would be laughable if it wasn't so tragic

Unfortunately I think there is an argument for churches / shopping centres / schools etc to have an armed guard, as sad as that is to admit.

    Can’t disagree, mate, unfortunately.

It’s a pretty sad state of affairs in a so called civilised country when institutions like Churches and Schools need to be protected by armed guards

The world has been ****ed for a long time.

The Peoples Temple Agricultural Project, better known by its informal name "Jonestown", was a remote settlement established by the Peoples Temple, an American socialist organization under the leadership of Jim Jones, in northwestern Guyana. It became internationally notorious when, on November 18, 1978, a total of 918 [1][2] people died in the settlement, at the nearby airstrip in Port Kaituma, and at a Temple-run building in Georgetown, Guyana's capital city. The name of the settlement became synonymous with the incidents at those locations.

A total of 909 individuals died in Jonestown,[3] all but two from apparent cyanide poisoning, in an event termed "revolutionary suicide" by Jones and some members on an audio tape of the event and in prior discussions. The poisonings in Jonestown followed the murder of five others by Temple members at Port Kaituma, including United States Congressman Leo Ryan, an act that Jones ordered. Four other Temple members committed murder-suicide in Georgetown at Jones' command.

While some refer to the events in Jonestown as mass suicide, many others, including Jonestown survivors, regard them as mass murder.[4][5] All who drank poison did so under duress, and almost a third of victims (304) were minors.[6][7] It was the largest such event in modern history and resulted in the largest single loss of American civilian life in a deliberate act until September 11, 2001.

The trouble is, their whole country was founded on a climate of fear and paranoia.
These are pilgrims who fled Europe because of "religious persecution".
They arrived on the US continent scared, then when they won independence, they feared political tampering by England so they made this stupid ****ing second amendment that says if their government ever becomes tyrannical (ie under de facto British rule), they can arm themselves and form a militia to overthrow it.
The things is, 300 years later, England is NOT trying to take over the US, and the only threat to their government is its own internal greed and corruption, but NO, the second amendment is sacred.....
It has created a whole "gun culture", where they love their guns above all else, because they feel it helps em protect 'Murica! from the badguys.....its insane and it is not something that is going to go away over there unfortunately. They have backed themselves in to a corner with this **** and its too late to fix it.

There are certain things they can, and should, do to tighten up gun control, a few loopholes they can close up, a few more barriers they can put in place to stop the really ****ing nutty ****s getting hold of fire arms.....but as a whole, guys, there are over 300 million guns in that country, thats 1 gun per person......

The country is ****ed. Just glad I don't live there.

Mad thing about the pilgrims was they weren't escaping religious persecution, they wanted to persecute religions but couldn't so left to be able to have a place they could persecute in

I know, thats why I put "Religious persecution" in speech mark :)
They said it was because they were being persecuted, but really it is because they weren't being allowed to persecute others.
Elizabeth I and James I, during their reigns, had discouraged the Catholic/Protestant war that had raged so violently during the reigns of Elizabeths father Henry VIII and her sister Mary I.

When you think about it, America never really stood a chance.
All this, "Promised Land" "Land of the free" "Greatest country in the world" bullshit....it makes me sick. The country is beyond saving. I am glad they got Trump, he is all they deserve.

America is one totally ****ed up country. Even their own people can’t relate to one another. I’ve been to a few places there and New York and Chicago are very ****ing different from Tulsa, Oklahoma!

    I thought you did mate.

America for a country that is supposed to be the pinnacle of the free world reminds me of India tbh

What I mean is that you think its a "friends" lifestyle but people work 2-3 jobs to survive.

Someone once said to me if you are debt free and have £10 in your pocket you are richer than most americans
