Another Manager Gone

Championship side Middlesbrough have parted company with manager Garry Monk just six months after he was appointed.

The former Swansea and Leeds United boss took charge in June and was tasked with leading the side to promotion back to the Premier League.

Middlesbrough are ninth in the Championship and have won 10 of their 23 league games.

News of Monk's departure was announced on the club's Twitter feed just hours after a 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday.

Really odd, bbc article doesn’t go into too much detail, but I think they’re doing pretty well, would be pretty happy to be in their position right now.

Maybe the board think they’re underachieving for the money they spent in the summer? Maybe Monks eyeing his old job up at a Swansea? Who knows ey.

Given that Steve Gibson has never been the sort to ditch a Manager in the past, this is out of character.

Two possibilities spring to my over-active imagination.

Monk has upset his Chairman or done something wrong.
OR
Gibson has someone who he really rates, lined up.

I'd go for the latter.

Pulis perhaps?

Swansea bound for me

SSN report he was sacked rather than left by mutual consent.

It can't have been results though, unless Gibson assumed they were going to walk the league.

May have been a difference with the board about money for the coming transfer window, who knows. Just seems odd after winning away.

Yeah that sounds more likely to me than a 'promotion' to Swansea. I they'll be looking at better managers than Monk, better in their eyes at least.

Talking of Cattermole how is he injured, again ? most likely kicked the changing room wall at Wolves ! seems to be this time each year as well, must fancy xmas off.
