Pissing off your fans is never a good policy , quite a few have already decided enough is enough , I don't think we need to expand the stadium now if we can't sell out at £16

I always thought we needed a bigger stadium until recently but I would worry about filling it now

Good point, already said that the supporters are only 7% of income, a figure which will only get less as the TV money goes up. Staying in the premier league is the key. Not spending more than the income to stay there is the important part.

Only if you assume that nobody buys a pie, a pint, a programme, a shirt, or starts attending away games. It has the potential to secure a whole new generation of fans, this is about the long term sustainability of a Premier League club, not just about what return you get in a handful of seasons.

For the last few seasons at Boothferry Park we had an average attendance of about 6,000, if people thought that was all we could achieve, we'd never have moved into the KC in the first place. The model is already there, cities no bigger than ours already get much better attendances, pitch the prices right and stop pissing people off and there's much more potential in this club, remember that 3,000 season ticket holders didn't renew this season, despite last season being our best ever.

In order to fill an expanded stadium at present we would have to reduce match day prices, like you said we're not selling out at £16. If you reduce match day prices then you'd have to reduce season passes otherwise they'd be pointless and people wouldn't buy them.

So to fill a bigger stadium we would actually reduce our current income (current passes and match day revenue) and it is unlikely that the 5,000 or so new seats would make up this shortfall.

So we'd either have an extra few thousand empty seats or a full stadium making less money than it was before.

I highly doubt 3000 didnt renew.

The rest of your post sounds like "blue sky thinking"hey guys how do we increase productivity bollocks.

You cant compare clubs, far too many variables.

No Premier League club is going to drop prices. If we put a 10000 extension on it would be bloody stupid to reduce everyones season pass to accommodate them. Liverpool arent doing that, they're going to increase.

3,000 didn't renew, 2,500 are new season ticket holders this season, figures from the club.

I think its vital that we do increase the stadium capacity and reduce ticket prices for anyone still in education. I would rather school kids got free tickets and got hooked on hull city . those kids are the clubs future season pass buyers . cheap ticket prices will increase our crowds . The juniors tell me loads of kids at there school WANT to go to games but cant afford it ..IF that's the same at all schools in the area I see no problem with getting bigger crowds .

Of course Assem Allam won't deal with the council...let's hope our new owners will.

That's a good post and captures the essence of the way forward; unfortunately your last line quite rightly introduced the elephant back into the room, the elephant that had seemed to have escaped at some point of the discussion. <ok>
