Whether there's any truth in this I don't know, but otherwise it seems fair enough to me. I can't say I like it, but there's no point in denying we're on the slide at the minute and selling Asa would be a horrendous poke in the eye for us fans. The mags didn't want to see Carroll go, but they got £35M for him, which isn't bad business. I'd want silly money for a proven scorer like Asa, i.e. something in the order of £25M minimum.
