Well the comparisons have gone from mass murderer (Shipman, I think) to murderer. Give a year or so and the analogies might become accurate.
Obviously not comparing the 2 scenarios, just pointing out that merely because it is his living doesn't mean a lifetime ban can't be enforced. But anything to direct away from the issue I guess.... Poor old Suarez, always the victim.
19/06/14 - "Before the game too many people in England laughed about my attitude over the last few years. This is a very good time for me. I want to see what they think now."
LOL But to be fair, NOF, you have been very silent since saying Moyes would do better than Jose last season!
Two wrongs don't make a right*, Matty! *Unless it's math's . . . in some circumstances . . . sort of!
I dunno, there is precedent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roberto_Rojas Of course there is another option - he gets a long ban from internationals by not from domestic football. This actually pushes his price up as whoever buys him knows he won't be called up or injured whilst on international duty. Either way, I reckon he will be out of the PL now - after the UK media reaction to the incident he'll be demanding a move and blaming the English media for forcing him out of the game. The only question is who will come in for him - I reckon he would have forced a move last summer if he'd had options other than Arsenal, and was playing to put himself in the shop window this season, so it does very much depend on who is interested.
In a way it could be a blessing for Liverpool strange as it seems. If they want to keep him it may have put off potential buyers (probably not though given it's Madrid and Barca!!) and he's likely to not have international football next season. If they want to cash in, it's an easier sell to the Liverpool fans, bringing the club into disrepute and all that....
It's at times like this I'm glad Isupport a small club. Liverpool fans must have watched that last night and thought "oh **** - here we go again". One of Suarez's team mates tried to pull Cellini's shirt up so that the ref didn't see the bite mark and I haven't seen much fuss made about that. Had the roles been reversed and Suarez had done that instead he'd still get grief. O course the same will go should Hazzard, Podolski or Hernandez etc. etc. do anything wrong in the next phases. I don't condone his behaviour at all (and in fairness any Liverpool fans that have done have been taking the piss) but if he didn't play for a high profile English club there wouldn'tbe this level of outrage. I'm loving it all the same mind!
