Credit where credits due, think Webb has his best game reffing us for a good while, .................................apart from the Vidic offside goal Only one goal against us today though from the ref, things are looking up
I think Skrtel should have been sent off for being last man. Also Johnson rugby tackled Valencia whilst being on a yellow card. Webb was very kind to you today.
Don't think Skrtel should have gone - ball was too close to the keeper and was also going into the channel rather than straight towards the goal. Could've been given, but not a clear enough goal scoring chance in my book. Particularly given Welbeck would probably have hit the corner flag with it. Thought we could have had a penalty for Wisdom's shove on Kagawa, but that's one of those the refs never give unless the player throws themselves to the ground with a big appeal. Then they wonder why there's so much diving. Johnson definitely should have walked, but glad he didn't as that way the talk is about the game rather than the ref. Would've been a different story if you'd scored at the death tho!
I don't think the Kagawa challenge was a penalty personally, Kagawa's own fault for weighing 9 stone.
The red I agree, lucky there but you are having a laugh if you think Johnson did anything other than commit a foul ffs. Yellow? Giving yellows for that, it would cause off kinds of nonsense, players go down too easily already. Less yellows for challenges that aren't dangerous so we can see more of a game of football and less rolling around.
you mancs... valencia pulled johnson back twice before johnson fell over... in case you didn't realise webb just didn't want to book valencia for his constant fouling and pulling, dragging etc so he then let johnson off. this was merely easy choice, in anon controversial are of the pitch. simple that one.. after that... if you mancs are whining about having a few lfc sent off to feel more ocmfortable when you were tossing on defenders to shore up instead of scoring anothe rcouple it must mean sturridge has an impact. good for him but game lost well beofre that through the usual tactical mistakes
yeah not like he was shoved, more steered The replay clearly shows him pretending to be poleaxed to try win a pen without actually claiming for one. The guy just can't stay on his feet. He's over rated anyway, not shown at all why he's been bought, shirt seller
Johnson was pulled back by Valencia which made him lose his balance and take Valencia out. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. Neither should have been booked and neither were. Get lost with all this, 'Johnson should have walked'. Skrtel's yellow I thought was minimal contact with Welbeck who just collapsed completely. Seen them given, but personally I thought it was nothing. Fair game by Webb, although he ****ed up when Pepe was down (did he see it?). He should stop play when he sees it, not when there's a break in play or when the ball is turned over. Awful decision and I'd feel hard done to if I were a manc.
Thought the initial challenge was six and two threes, but then Johnson had a good and deliberate grab at Valencia on the floor after he had fallen, which would probably have gotten him booked had he not been booked already. Aye, that was quite a bad decision. Also thought it was quite callous of Liverpool to play on when he was down and Skrtel was standing over him screaming to stop the game. Assuming Skrtel didn't just start doing that as soon as your lot lost possession...
Today has been too easy for Bluff and Dev Disgraceful decisions today. Van Persie blatantly punched the ball in to the net for the first goal, and did anyone see that assault on Reina from Kagawa? Not to mention their second goal was offside
If you watch the Johnson video in real speed it doesn't look like a rugby tackle at all. It clearly shows him falling to the ground. The only time it looks anything like a rugby tackle is when you put it in slow motion and don't seem Johnson being knocked off his balance and falling... then in slow motion... yes, because you don't have the advantage of seeing the momentum and inertia could it look like a "rugby tackle"... slow motion often makes things look like they're not. As for Skrtel... I thought that was a red... Not familiar with rule that if the ball is going to be reached by the goalkeeper first it isn't a red for fouling the last man. Won't complain... I don't think Webb had to resort to cheating to win this match for United... United did that on their own... Webb was fairly impartial... made a few mistakes but they evened out over 90 mins.
