Numerous occasions? Watch the replay, I count no more than 5 times. Yeah that's not good, but over 90 mins it's not a disaster, and I'm sick of people concentrating on the negatives, especially when people have just started

He showed good precision in the tackles he made, he showed good aggression, and he also played some good passes, and started moves off. He played a great pass that almost had us in. He found Ba in space, and got us into a threatening position. He made the best pass of the game, from any player on the pitch.

He was far away from poor.

From his sub appearance vs Spurs, to his game vs Atromitos and his game vs Chelsea, he's shown that he'll take a bit of time getting used to the side, but he's shown a lot of promise, he's done more good than bad since he came.

Can't believe the negativity that's going round here at the moment. It's quite pathetic.

I agree. Don't compare Anita with Tiote, who's a totally different animal. The way Tiote imposes himself on the game when without the ball, you can't find many in the league who can do that. Granted, Anita gave away a cheap penalty but look at his harrying, certainly didn't seem like a full debut to me. But he has to work on his involvement as he tends to disappear for stretches of the game...
And don't forget Tiote in his first season, he gave the ball away to Pedersen in the game against Blackburn in our box I think twice and cost us the game singlehandedly...

Have to say that l can see his point, but maybe the negativity is just a symptom of all the anxiety that is pervading the forum at the moment, and who can blame us for waiting for something doom and gloom to happen. There is so much speculation surrounding some of our key players and fear that the unthinkable might just go ahead and happen. So hard as it is just now, let's try and focus on the positives and who knows we just might get a surprise of the nice variety, just when we expect it least. HTL

He was ok, better than the Tiote horror show against Spurs

I really don't know where people get some of this material from, but this is making me laugh.

Horror show? Are you for real? He played a few **** passes, but his overall performance wasn't bad.

He was awful in the first half. He didn't play a few bad passes, he spent the entire first half thinking he was our playmaker, spraying (literally) long balls around the ground finding a combination of the the touch line and spurs players. I know you buy into the whole Tiote folk-hero thing, but bearing in mind he was our most dispossessed player last season he could do with not starting this season by giving the ball away in key areas. The position he plays means losing possession is truly criminal, and he put us under a lot of pressure in the first half.

On the subject of Anita, he looks pretty good, he's very composed, and is quick. The penalty was a little naive, but he'll learn, and is of course different to Tiote, I personally think our best team probably features both of them, freeing Cabaye up to do the creative stuff and leaving Tiote to do the dirty work, and to play the simple ball.

We are horribly negative fans at times. Give Anita a break. Let him get used to the league and the pace.
Newcastle game Vs Chelsea should never have been played on Saturday, monumental stitch up by a combination of Uefa, Atromitos, FA and Metropolitan Police.

<ok>!

We also have to remember we've been through arguably two of our toughest fixtures of the season, and we've gotten three points from them. Chelsea away will rank up with the likes of City away and Old Trafford this season, so it being over allows us to focus on the other games.

Surprise, surprise you have totally missed the point of my post.

All I was saying was that there is no getting away from the fact he has had a poor start. The fact that you keep contradicting yourself by saying he was poor yet good is also pathetic.

I do not need to look at a replay I was there to see it all for myself.

Try reading what people say before jumping on your high horse. He was comparing his performance to the horror show that Tiote had against Spurs, he was not calling Anita's performance a horror show.
