Anita Deal close?

Latest I got is that Anita wants a meeting with Pardew before he signs the deal. He wants a couple of questions answered like for what position Pardew had in mind to play and what his overall plan is for him. Anita: "I want to ask him what position he wants me to play, the CM, LB or RB position? This is one of the questions i have for him and i won't pen a contract before I have them answered."

Not much more, it's been all silent since the weekend from Anita's side.

 

Hmmm, I also heard that. AND that while a fee has been agreed between clubs, talks are stalling over 'personal terms'. If that also means pay / benefits, then I'm a bit concerned. I don't want someone coming in and disrupting the atmosphere and great team spirit because:

1. They think they should instantly be in the team and only in their favoured position - you have to earn your chance and then when you do get it, you play where you're told (as per Jonas, Perch, etc).
2. They think they should be on higher wages than established players and potentiall disrupt the wage system.

I'm hoping it's not like this at all and it's just that he simply wants to have a personal chat with the gaffer first, to get a sense of his ambitions for the club, etc before penning a deal.

 

With ol silver tongue Pards on the job, shouldnt be a problem. To be honest he should be more than impressed with the direction the club is taking, fanbase etc.

IF it is true that there has been no contact with Anita and his agents , and Anita wants to clarify with the gaffer on his role first, how could it be that talks have stalled over the wage demands or what not?
There first has to be a discussion going on before he can have a chance to stall over the talks aint it..

 

There was a misquoted statement that he'd asked above our wage ceiling but turns out it was over Ajaxs not ours.

It was said yesterday that no contact had yet been made with the player

 

All of which can be summarised as follows: we have no reliable information available to us.

Something is probably happening, though maybe not, but if so we don't know what it is.

 

He is on route but they want to announce him, Debuchy, Sakho and Jordan Rhodes at the same time.

Might as well make it up, the papers do.

Really hope that this transfer does not turn into some long drawn out saga like the Debuchy deal did, sand then come to nothing.
One because we desperately need more quality players to bolster the squad.
Two because it's bloody embarrassing to keep being knocked back like this.
Three because it is sending out the wrong vibes about our clubs ambition going forward
Four because l think it will unsettle the squad, doubts will start to creep in about the top brasses true commitment to strengthen the team, not just with young ones for the future, but with match fit Prem quality players.
Recently it has been great to hear our star players who are coveted by other clubs, saying that they are settled and happy, and have no desire to look elsewhere to achieve their ambitions. We need to sort this transfer malarky out, before they start to wonder if they should be elsewhere. As l am sure Cabaye must be both puzzled and disappointed with regards to DeBuchy, as a prime example.

 

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Geordie in the Fen again.
