It’s not an argument though, it’s a simple fact, no deal was never put forward as a credible or desirable option before the referendum, there’s therefore no mandate for it, as no one voted for it, despite the attempted rewriting of history in recent months, it’s a complete lie.

If there was a 2nd referendum, then there should be 2 question on the ballot paper.

    1. Do you want to leave with the negotiated Withdrawal agreement Y / N

If yes wins, it ends there.

If no wins the 2nd question becomes active.

    2. Do you want to leave the EU with no deal or would you rather remain in the EU?

Not sure that would be enough to get it through the commons mate, the thing was voted down 3 times.
And even still I would rather stay in the EU than accept that Deal.

My list of possible outcomes in order of desirability are:

    Leave with a Good Deal
    Leave with No Deal
    Stay in the EU
    Leave with a **** Deal

You can’t put a time limit on the backstop unless you either have a technological solution to the border issue or we agree a trade deal with the EU that has a unified customs area and regulatory alignment in certain key areas.

There was no point agreeing a Deal with the EU before they even knew the result of the referendum! They might have wasted months of time and millions of pounds hashing out a deal only for Remain to have won!

Each side should have got an idea of what the **** each other was willing to accept before they triggered Article 50 though

Or unless you are Switzerland, which borders 5 EU Countries, isnt in the EU, and has no hard border with any of the 5 neighbouring EU member states

Switzerland is in Schengen and it also has access to the single market, and does have hard borders for goods, so you’ve swallowed another lie.

    What lie?
    Who has lied to me?
It IS possible to have soft borders with EU member states and not be in the EU, with certain concessions.
Why couldn't we try to get a similar deal? Obviously Schengen wouldnt fly with the UK populace, but its possible to get such a deal.

    Irrelevant to a referendum result.

However you should ask yourself whether in a safe labour or tory seat it was you who chose the MP or it was the political party.

Numerous Brexitards have tried (and failed) to use Switzerland as a supposed example of a borderless State, that somehow solves the Irish border issue.

Here’s those ‘soft borders’ you’re talking about, they’re borders - with infrastructure.

Switzerland has access to the SM and adheres to the 4 pillars, that’s why ffs <doh>

Well thats just me not knowing what Switzerlands border is like, there is no lie involved!

Well it may come down to the Irish having to accept some kind of border then if they hold their relationship to the EU more dearly than their relationship to their Northern cousins.
That means the Good Friday agreement may have to be renegotiated or scrapped outright.

Oh No "the Troubles" may return!! :emoticon-0107-sweat

So if you had no idea about Switzerland’s borders, then why mention it and say that it had no borders? Where did you get that idea from?

Also, you’d chuck the problem caused by U.K. politicians failing to either understand or being honest about the Irish border issue before saying we should leave the SM & CU, and try and make it somehow Ireland’s problem and their choice? Ireland has absolutely no desire to leave the EU ffs. Have you forgotten that NI also voted to remain btw?

You’d also chuck the GFA in the bin and everything that brings with it, for Brexit then......right oh.

Well I read somewhere Switzerland had free movement with the EU, so took that to mean Soft Borders, I got my wires crossed obviously.

Of course it is Ireland's choice, their membership of the EU is what is making a soft border impossible, because they would be in violation of EU law if they had a Soft Border with a Non EU member state. We wouldn't be in violation of EU law, because we wouldnt be under the jurisdiction of EU law. and the WTO have already said they would be fine with a soft border.

Any PM who thinks he has a mandate for no deal should be confident enough to put that to the people.

Except, of course, they won’t as they know that they don’t!

In part, although a GE is a multi issue affair. Not a vote on one specific issue.

Plus, of course, Bozo will never actually admit that crashing out with no deal is his intention.

Project make impossible demands and then try to blame it all on the EU

Lets be real though, this GE is going to be ALL about Brexit, which is a shame, but it is what it is.
