The point about pricing is fair. The rest of it is hypocritical twaddle. Everton are not a well-supported club. Their stadium while steeped in history needs updating. The allocation for away fans is pitiful. We were given 1750 seats or thereabouts in a poxy side stand close to the side at which we scored. It's the same with a lot of the so-called big boys. The aim is to have as many of your own fans inside the ground as possible. That should not mean that visiting supporters are herded into a corner. It's a bit rich therefore for our toffee-nosed toffee friend to whinge about the fact that they are getting only 1700 seats, almost 10% when we were only offered 5%. Shame also that our 5% made twice as much noise throughout the game than their 95%. Tell me "angry Everton fan" do your fans ever get behind your team or do they simply try to attend every game since the year dot because it 's good for their ego, watch in silence and whinge at the facilities?
To be fair we took the lower allocation because we didn't sell more. 1700 or so was a crap turnout given it was our first away game back in this league, at a big club with a good old-fashioned ground. It makes it all the more annoying when people whinge they can't get a ticket for the London away days.
I'm starting to love Darren like a brother. http://www.royalbluemersey.com/2012...qpr-who-do-you-think-you-are?login=1330036736
I've read the link. My response is as follows: Dear Darren, Remarkable that for someone who proudly declares how many games he has seen home and away to watch his beloved team, he could even be deterred by the price. Interesting also for the amount of vitriol poured out which seems to get even nastier when we dare to respond. Finally, wasn't that a massive chip on the shoulder that I saw with all those comments about Londoners and the way scousers are portrayed. Listen sunshine. if you want civilised debate, don't start off in such a malicious way and then complain at the responses. Oh. and I should have said. If you accept that the away seating at Goodison is diabolical, why not give the away fans a section of the stand behind the away goal with, as you say. a temporary cordon. Show some hospitality. Come to think about it. Why don't we do the same? That way when the Toffees visit we can herd the couple of hundred or so true fans into a corner and use the rest of the upper tier of the School end as well for even more of our fans.
Brilliant! Darren's not playing tonight, but his ego'll drag him back sooner or later. His Twitter profile: Nothing about being thick-skinned or extremely witty though. Maybe being chosen was enough. This guy has such a huge self-regard, I don't really know where to start or stop with him. The target is too big if you will. And he keeps making it bigger. As usual a really well-constructed post YH.
