Rail workers, generally have personality disorders. Probably through many years of working with the difficult public or because they had an attitude in the first place. Obviously varied companies of recent times have tried to change the image of rail workers, from miserable obnoxious gits, to more of a helpful customer service image and not treating every customer as a potential fair dodger who disturbed their tea break.
Research has shown that rail workers later clone into postal workers, same mentality, the one out all out syndrome, but much more free than wandering on a lonely platform all day. Generally you will see the postal worker daily on your streets, strolling about in the middle of winter in shorts, while talking to the Mrs back home via an ear piece attached to a mobile device. The latter tends to smile at you this time of year, i assume it must be the Christmas spirit coming out in them.
Not that i know many rail or postal workers, i think most are Southampton supporters

Happy Christmas brb. Now **** off and stop disturbing my tea break.
