Neither did. Robben was asked (by the media) due to the relationship between him and van gaal if he would move to United. He said it would be hard to turn down van gaal. Once back at bayern he was clearly told off for the remark so pledged his future to Bayern to stop their fans worrying. At no point did bayern and united ever discuss this transfer. Muller. never happened. Another van gaal link due to the close ties he had with the player. Turning down would mean we went head to head with another club for a player ( his own club or other ).
