You don't think they'll adopt the witty ditty that Millwall fans sang to David Speedie "You Scotch C**t You Scotch C**t"?
We've got some here in Catalunya, the Platform for Catalunya. They witter on about more doctors, better schools and so on, but their real motive is just 'pack 'em up and send 'em back'.
Nein danke.
Nationalism is the pits. All nationalism.
I'll modify it a bit by saying that I think nationalism is OK on the football or rugby terraces, and it's a pity that Andy Murray's "anyone but England" is taken so seriously. However when you take nationalism further it leads to intolerance, contempt and even hatred of other nationalities, or even of those who do not share one's nationalistic views. An extreme example of this is the Norwegian gunman who ran amok recently. This is the opposite of a positive type of patriotism, for example I am immensely proud of the fact that I come from the heart of Burns country, and that Scotland has produced IMO not only the world's best poet but also the world's worst (McGonagall). Similarly England has produced Shakespeare, the Beatles, Elgar, Darwin and has a fantastic capital city and I could go on, but you get my drift, I'm sure you are proud of many things English. I doubt whether many members of the BNP know anything about any of these people. Why?
Your statement is a bit bland, FHB, so a bit of enlightenment would be much appreciated. Ta.

No, only St. Patrick's Day is celebrated, not only by the Irish, by anyone who fancies a good drink, especially with boiled gammon. Burns Night, not St. Andrew's Day is celebrated by Scots. Who was St. Andrew anyway? Or St David? Why is it that st David, st Patrick, st Andrew days are all celebrated and st George is frowned upon and almost outlawed because us English can't be nationalist without someone drawing the comparison with extremism.
No offense, but how would you go about celebrating St George's day? Just wondering.st George is frowned upon
Maybe that's why the English celebrate St Patrick's Day. It's the only one of the 4 worth celebrating. I used to celebrate it myself, but have not done so since I came home after one St Patrick's night and pissed on the wife's computer. We are not even given The chance to celebrate our national day
The majority of people don't mind being offended up to a point, and if they are thin-skinned enough to be enraged by something completely harmless let them be enraged.what is there to be offended by? Logically, if your offended by the patron saint of the country you live in, why do you live there?
