He was well beaten from Kane's disallowed effort prior to the pen and from Robbo's header against the bar but apart from that we never worked him hard enough. The pen save was a great save though to be fair
Its not only that but I personally think its a hell of alot easier to look skillful when players aren't allowed to tackle each other. I want to see actual skillful players look skillful because they can get around tackles rather than the defender not being able to commit, equally I love seeing a well timed strong tackle which Brown does often put in.
And it would be lawful, as long as it was not with excessive force. I love it when commentators complain about referees' giving fouls saying "but they got the ball" when the defender comes in with such force that he sends the opponent into the next postal code. I often wonder if they would be ok with the defender shooting the player as he "gets all ball."
AKCJ it was mistimed and misjudged, the ball was past danns and he only came out with the ball cos it hit him on the chest, if he had timed his feet properly mckenna (who was strong in the tackle but not dangerous) would have had a broken leg.
he also wasnt in control of his actions the moment both feet left the ground. Thats what refs look for & decide if theres intention of a foul/dangeous play which carrys a straight red. Cant argue with that. Nasty challenge.
If you watch the video further back McKenna leaves the ground as he launches into the tackle as well, so even as a Hull fan I'm saying it could have been seen as dangerous.
Ricardo I agree Mckennas could have been seen as wreckless however he was in control, Danns was lucky no leg was in the way (which it wouldve been if he had timed it right
Fact is neither player were in control. I still think that if McKenna came out with the ball we'd have screamed for him to be sent off.
For this season, it all depends on which stats you want to use: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/discipline/_/league/eng.2/english-league-championship?cc=5901 Player Discipline OR Fair Play I think "Player Discipline" is more indicative of who the good guys are!
