Chester had a good game, one thing that let him down was his distribution. A few too many stray passes and dodgy touches for my liking, hopefully those can be stamped out.
Chester and Brady for me. Koren also played well, but corner delivery let him down, and Rosenior was as busy as ever. Hobbs was beaten to the header almost everytime - Reading had a great tactic of punting the ball about 5 yards infield of him and letting Hunt run back and win a flick-on, totally taking Hobbs out of the game. For a man who is supposed to be good in the air, he looked naive today (also totally bottled and fluffed one attacking halfchance when Rosenior put the ball on his head about 12 yards out in the second half, and he didn't even jump for it under pressure from their defender).
I have to say i completely disagree on the Chester one he did well on the ground made some quality tackles, but even if he did make them it doesn't take away from the fact he was getting beaten in the air for almost every challenge in the second half. I rate Chester very highly as his positioning is quality but was not his best game today. Dawson's best game for a long time, really came into his own today. Brady and Cairney still play like youngsters have brilliant spells, but they are so frustrating as at times they just need that end product. Cairney yet again looked sideways first, once he gets that out his game he will be top class.
Daws' reaction at the final whistle near us in the East Stand showed how much the result meant to him - thats for sure . Well done Daws. Dudgeon will be/is a good player - we just needed that steadiness from an old head yesterday and Daws gave us that.
Andy Dawson looked back to his best yesterday. I had a theory last season, that he may have been carrying an injury, because his mobility seemed to take a sudden dive from one season to the next .
I was pleased to see Daws have a good game, think that was probably his best game since we got relegated.
