Seriously guys, just talking about spending 12 to 17 million on Carroll makes me wince. Just not worth it. UK talent has outpriced itself. Keep developing Rudy and find some technically gifted players from the mainland. MM seems to have a good eye to be fair. Don't give up on Kiss either. I would like to see Bellamy play as a striker next year next to Rudy, Maynard, or Frasier. I want a couple of technical quick footed midfielders, a hard tackling midfielder, and a couple of defenders before thinking of throwing silly money at Carroll.
First thing I said was that his wages would kill any deal, I don't think we should sign him. Just saying he'd be a good fit if we did and he's 'cheap' for someone at 10mill. Depends how much football he wants to play. He can go and sit on Brenda's bench for 80k or play for the type of club that'll want him for half that. If he plays regular pl football next season you can expect 15 + goals IMO. That's not an easy thing to buy for 10m.
The non uk market does offer better value but for every Michu there's 10 velikonjas and that prossy bloke at hull
he'd be a cracking signing here. tan would get his chequebook out if it wasnt for FFP IMO, though with the higher PL money who knows what will happen here next year. southampton spent £12m on ramirez and probably £60k / week. carroll would be a much safer bet than any carlos kickaball, but with the increased PL money next year i can think of 5-6 teams who would stump up the money for him, and are all bigger clubs too.
Fully expecting a summer loss on him. If you can't make any impression in the Championship you can forget about scoring goals past the best defenders in the world.
