i seem to be in a minority but i'd take carroll at norwich, absolutely no question at all. play him in the right system, play to his strengths and he'd be an absolute beast of a centre forward. liverpool seemed to notice this in the final few days of last season, once it was too late.

I completely agree- he surprised me and in the end I thought he was totally underused at the World Cup, should have replaced the ineffectual Welbeck. Welbeck probably will be good in a year or two, but he just doesn't strike the fear of God into defences like Carroll.

As you say, wage-wise we won't be anywhere near him. My guess is Wet Sham like the rumours
