I have to agree about Downing. I don't like to get on the backs of players, but if I do, it's because of their attitude, not their ability. No-one can do anything about the amount of talent they're given other than work hard to make the most of it. I've tried to be positive about Downing, but reading his comments before the game, and his (yet again) distinctly average performance during it, I'm losing patience with him. He never really takes people on, which is what he's supposed to be good at, and so I can't see any point in him being there, tbh. I have been a bit critical of Carroll's attitude earlier in the season, but he does look like he wants to play for us now and I'm hoping for better things from him next season.
