Not according to this, which surprises me as I thought it was 2 clubs not 3 !

"Currently under the FIFA Transfer Regulations a football player is unable to play for more than three teams in one season. This applies whether the player has been transferred or simply is on loan with that club"

Plus if he came back to us then technically there's still only 2 clubs involved....not sure if that counts tho :-).

Caulkin has said it's very unlikely he's going to make the move.

Which I welcome, he's a journalist and I don't feel he'd add anything to the squad.

I'd take James McCarthy but I'm not overly fussed, we have a lot of players who are okay, kinda like their good for the championship and maybe perhaps okay or not good enough for the PL, players like

Ayoze Perez - no better then when he first got here, really needs to up it

I would say there are question marks over a lot of these players heads, some of them are capable, and would be good enough squad players, but I think when we get up to the PL, we need a good clear out and re-evaluation of what we want to do as a club.

I even question whether Gayle will be good enough in the PL as a single striker, it's a much higher standard, will he still get double figures?

Plus Palace apparently owe us £3m for Townsend at the end of Jan whatever happens. Newcastle are supposedly using the payment (or non payment) of this as a lever to sort out the loan deal until the end of the season

Yeah if i was a betting man all this financial leverage we have with fee's due to us still this deal looks the most likely to happen.

Townsend and McCarthy in will do me, now wheres that mythical line gone?
