Have to disagree with that Saffy, Jim Baxter has been our stand out penalty taker in my 60 years supporting the club.

Gary Rowell scored 21 out of 22. I'm trying to find Baxter's record, now. I have no idea, mate. It was before my time, it's just what my elders tell me.
I think it was his first ever penalty, he missed.
Actually it was 25 out of 26, his record.
Jim Baxter scored 6 penalties. Not sure if he missed any.
Borini was class. Did he miss any?
IMO Rowell is by far the best pen taker I’ve EVER seen, for ANY team.

Rowell & Borini both had the ability to put the pressure to one side (and the keeper to the other!!)
As a team, I think we hold the record for the most penalties in a row scored (not including shoot-outs or friendlies) - was something like 30 in a row I think till McGeady missed one
Don't know the details about Baxter but every one he took for us were top corner just under the bar..unstoppable and I don't think he missed, surprised was only six but suppose he didn't have much longevity with us, just remember he was a class act.
Yes - my pal (SAFC fan) knows him quite well, and one night we were in The Vic after a game a The Lord was there with his son (as well as the original Samson).
They stayed in our company quite a while. A top bloke, as was his son!!
