I think that's a bit harsh on Ki. Remember how we all thought he was fantastic for the first few games. Great passing and vision etc. Just because he's lost form for the last few games he is crap ?
Ki is the better player in my book. When he came on against Middlesbrough he changed the game - it was stagnant until he got and and started spraying passes with pace around the field. I'm sure he will come good again.

The issue I have though Stereo is that when we had Orlandi, there were numerous complaints that he was light in the tackle, but when you compare him with Ki, I see no difference, though I think that Orlandi is easily technically the better player, now I know that is not going to go down well with some, but if Ki don't stop his sleep walking, then the way I see it, there was no need to bring in KI, we should have simply kept Orlandi!................<ok>

Coming back to Jagers perception that Orlandi is injury prone, and that's a common perception of the lad might I add, I can only remember him being injured with us, on two occasions, he was out with a HS in february 2012 for 5 weeks, and he was out in January 2011 with a thigh strain for 5 weeks, now I might have missed something so I'm sure Jager will jog my memory, but I don't see him anywhere near as injury prone as Agustien. For me his injuries are no issue, and are part and parcel of ther game, seems manager Gus Poyet, was not concerned with this phantom injury issue, as he stated when he signed Orlandi:

If he's so injury prone, how come Poyet could say " he played a lot of games in the Championship for Swansea, helping them win promotion' ?? Anyway I've made my point, his injuries are a side show, nothing more. We should have kept him!...................<ok>

The problem with that phil is that you look at the whole picture and see that he was injured a lot, perhaps you are simply overlooking the links I have you that show he was out injured. No matter what you say he was out of the game.

He also only played for us 64 times in the league the rest were cup games, you said Rodgers dumped him, you probably right there a little phil but he was out for 3 months at the beginning of last year with hamstring injury, so it's not just one injury and its not just one thing it's a myriad of things.

You say we made a mistake by letting him go, can you tell me what you are basing that on ? Laudrup had a decision to make where players had to go, do you think you have a better eye on the situation as he does ?

As for basing our current newbies on half a season, well that's how long they been with us, how can I base it on anything else?

Finally as I said I liked Orlandi he was a good player, I'm not having a go at him, but he's where he is at a championship club where he's comfortable at he's a proven player at that level, how he can be a proven player in the premier league after 3 games I don't know, I don't think he would have made it IMO

Listened to Andrea on Talk Sport this morning. What a great guy he sounds. He spoke about his time at Barca, how he played with Iniesta (his favourite player) and others and how he progressed through the youth system to get there.

He said that he is really enjoying his football now because Gus Poyet has shown confidence in him by playing him regularly and that has made a huge difference to his game. Really delighted for the lad.

I thought that it was interesting that he compared Poyet with Rodgers too, in that he can talk to him. He seemed to have a passing swipe at Laudrup saying that he didn't say a word to him pre season when he came in

Yet Rodgers was the one who dumped him last season. He's a nice guy but he was given a choice he chose Brighton so it's the end of the matter. I trust our gaffer to do the right thing for our club and if it means that players who are left go has a cry so be it.

And lets face it here these people earn a fortune, I just had to make 8 people redundant today, 1 of them only started last week, so forgive me if I don't feel sorry for some pampered football player who gets paid a lot of money and has no problems financially. Some of the people I just let go were crying and worried as hell on where they will get money to live.

So at the moment I don't give a **** that Orlandi is upset with laudrup

Jager I'm basing it on common sense, it seems these days not everyone is gifted with this! clearly keeping Mark Gower, and letting Orlandi go, is laughable, if not completely inept as your asking!..........<laugh>

You and I will have to agree to disagree again, as we clearly will never see eye to eye on Orlandi it seems. Ivor that's all he needed, was a manager that would give him a run of games, and get some form, the boy has so much talent and potential, and I saw him as premiership class, and was really disappointed when Laudrup let him go, but he had so much on his hands at the time, that I think not enough justice was given Orlandi, glad though he's doing so well at Brighton, and I'm sure there's more to come!..........<ok>

Nobody said that Orlandi was upset with Laudrup. He answered a question in the context it was put to him and he has every right to talk about his previous managers. He wasn't bitter in any way, just stating how it was and how his game is benefiting from playing for a manager who believes in him and picks him. Fair enough in my book.

Orlandi came across as a modest, level headed man who now feels that his career is heading in the right direction. Good for him.

They were given the choice of stay or leave, Orlandi chose to leave Gower decided to stay. Both were under contract, so we have obligations in that regard. If we let Gower go we would have to pay up his contract, and who offered him a new contract anyway? Brendan, so its not in Laudrup's hands.

So before criticising Laudrup on keeping Gower, lets face the facts here, he had no choice, like he had no choice on letting Orlandi go because he wanted to go after Laudrup came here, he was probably told some home truths and decided to cut and run!

Home truths? There's a few playing for us right now who could do with a dose of that.

You probably right Ivor, but there are a few fans who need a dose of a reality check also!

Are you really saying that Orlandi wanted to go? Because if you are then, I'll post up his open statement to the media, that he wanted to very much stay at the Liberty! .................<cheers>

He went phil it's that simple, he wasn't forced out of the door as he was under contract until the end of this season. So he may have wanted to stay but when told what his role would be he left. So don't give me this pap about being forced its bull.

He could have stayed and picked a wage like grower but he wanted to play, so that speaks highly of him. But he was unproven player at this level and that is not laudrup's fault, is it ? He played 3 times phil in the premier league in a whole season, laudrup must have thought he's not worth the gamble even if he was Spanish

He wanted to stay but we are not a charity we want players who are of the standard to play premiership football. We still have to many on the books still who are not the standard we want but they were on a contract and when they finally run down their contract we will be getting rid of them. If we can sell them we would but nobody wanted them so we have no option than to keep paying them, orlandi was deemed surplus to requirements and unfortunately he never had a contract to stay even though he wanted to... that's football....As far as i can see he is doing well at brighton much better than dobbie another not deemed good enough...

Andrea Orlandi has signed a year's extension to his Swansea City contract keeping him at the club until the end of the 2012-13 season.

That's true Dai, and credit to him for doing so, the lad wants to play football. But it was his decision, he had an option to stay

Nothing is ever that simple as you suggest! He went because we wanted him to go, he was no longer in the clubs plans, and surplus to requirements saying anything different is twisting the truth, you are simply arguing for the sake of it, really can't be bothered with this type of reasoning!..................<ok>
