I can't believe that you've asked that question. You've clearly forgotten all the lessons we've learned the hard way. We can't buy our way to success. Bristol City learnt that lesson in 1982 when they folded and a phoenix club was formed. Clearly their new owners are young enough not to remember or stupid enough to do it all over again. Or both. If you think we can and you're prepared to stump up £9 million on one player plus another £7.5 million a year on his wages for 3 years, step forward my man and buy into the dream. After all it's only £9 million up front. I'm sure Tone will gratefully accept your donation.

That's a good point Yorkie. I'm sorry SMonkey but this is how it is at the moment. Since TF took over QPR were seen as an easy touch. Any agent looking to offload a player headed for QPR. I don't mean to name drop or to appear as a part of some inner circle, but at a recent fans forum meeting Sir Les said that this is what was happening. If a player couldn't find a club, they would approach us. We would duly accommodate them for purely the wrong reasons. We were seen as a soft touch. This is still the case with seemingly mediocre players looking to step up. They are still trying to blag more than they're entitled to.

This is why we are where we are compared to recent times. We have had to play hard ball. We have had to go from one extreme to another. An austerity measure if you like. This is also why TF has been asked to take a backseat, he no longer has the reigns. QPR can no longer be a go to for has been players or players from lower leagues trying it on. They come to us on our terms now, not theirs. Hence the breakdown in negotiations for lower league goalies etc. They are too greedy and when the charitable QPR come calling they try to take the piss. This is no longer the case.

All the agents at what ever level will soon see that the cash cow that was once us has exited stage left.

2 Buying yourself a striker, without the scaffold to give him service is stupid
3 At this moment of time we have a 15 million pound striker in our club who may just be with us till Xmas. We also have a back up.

Buying Grey is bad business for us at this time......it is something we would have done 2 years ago...well no 2 years ago we would have put a 20 million bid in for Carroll but you know what I mean.

A Championship player with one season at that level and nothing above League Two before that I believe. Looks a really good player who should hit his peak in 2-3 years but that's a hell of an outlay for someone so unproven.
