A very informed and realistic insight into the Brentford and Andre Gray situation from someone who clearly has a direct link with Brentford FC. It clearly highlights how the agent in modern football, will keep pulling and pushing to get the best deal for his player and also how each club that becomes involved is used/misused to suit only the ends of the agent and player. The way forward at Bristol City is clear for me. We must develop the output from our own Academy to produce a quality and quantity that will supply the first team's needs and which will also allow us to sell at big profit margins. In addition, the recruitment of players via the transfer market must be done differently. Having just watched Callum Wilson for Bournemouth at WHam, made me realise that we must join in the transfer merry go round at an earlier stage than is usual for BCFC. We did try to do this once with Akinde and perhaps because he was not a success, this approach was not continued. We have to join in the recruitment of players like Wilson, Gray and Gayle at least two steps earlier in their career development. We will still get too many Akinde's but just one sale at £6 to £10 million will more than sweeten that pill. At the moment, there must be many others like Kodjia out there in Europe who would be a better option long term than nearly £10 million for an Andre Gray?
