    A casual fan says

"Most Swans fans think we'll be flirting with relegation. Most fans probably think that Liverpool will be top 6 or thereabouts."

    Sources please puppydog.

Casual, I understand your desire to want to grab shinny things, afteral supporting a team in the lower leagues must feel like a Russian Gulag sometimes; cold, bleak and inescapably boring. So its no wonder you keep popping up on our shinny Premiership board and want to be in our light.

As you know Swansea City AFC are an extremely shinny premiership team with a spice to our game that makes pundits drool with superlatives dripping from their mouths like the juices of the tenderest of steaks. I do appreciate that its hard for you in the dark of a lower divisions to ever imagine yourselves eating so well, so you are welcome, always, to sample our dish, just come on over any time you want.

I do hope that you take some solace from knowing that you, Cardiff, helps prop up the premiership where we live. I hope that some day small amounts of the obscene sums of money which Swansea City AFC earns in the Premiership, drips down to you, so you can finish painting the CCS and buying new shirts with the change.

We understand your need to see the light at the end of the tunnel. That's where we live casual and, as Welsh Brothers, we will help you touch the shinny things of Swansea City AFC, we will allow you to comment on our boards, we give you permission to discuss our shinny players, manager, chairman and our exorbitant transfer fees with the little intelligence you have.

Bask in our glory brother, its yours too if you want it, come join us. Good luck to you bloobies in reaching the playoffs but don't go embarrassing yourselves again.

I pat your puppy head Casual and await your gratitude.

I posted the actual quote. He either said that in some separate interview (that wasn't the press conference or official LFC version) or the BBC abridged what he actually said with 'Swansea' instead of the full quote.

It's not the 'Swansea' way - it's the way a lot of teams play, and have played long before Swansea, and will play probably long after Swansea stop doing it.

Where the rest of it's from? The transcript of the press conference? On our official site? Ah, who cares about actual facts, right?

Also... we're a bit better than the Romans, we've reached Asia!

Of course we don't have the players to win the league, or even get CL right now. We do have the players for 5-6th.

Crashing down? It already has crashed down <ok>

Do you get paid to waste other people's time? Or is it a hobby? Just curious.

Just saw this - Allen would be playing 40-60 games for us this season if signed when you count league, Europe and cups.

I wouldn't like to say if we have or hadn't, I hope it's true. I'd guess it's in the region of £12M, which is reasonable.

But, no player is bigger than the club. If he goes, you'll move on.

    That'd be best for you.

Our days of big spending seem to be over though - the owners have no budget (within reason) but are keen on value.

I think you'll find they got there before you,and without the help of Ryan Air.

Oh,and they would have left the place in a far better condition than you lot.

With all due respect as you're not a tit like terror, we haven't been great the last few seasons but Liverpool still has some pull you know.

Its still one of the most famous clubs in the world and most players bar those at the very top clubs in the Champions League would love to come and play footbal at Anfield.

Are you objectively trying to say staying at Swansea at this level is better than moving to one of the biggest clubs in Europe who challenge for trophies every season and where he would get to play European Club football for the first time and may even get to play in the Champions League in the next few years. He will also be in the vert best level of shop window and if he excels he could potentially move up even further career wise by getting a move to a Madrid, City or Barcelona. He just wouldn't get any of these opportunites if he stays at Swansea and doesn't move to any bigger club.

I realise you can't see that though because your a Swansea fan and hate Liverpool but to anyone who can put club loyalty and hatred aside can see how a move up to Liverpool is more than climbing the next rung of the ladder.

Liverpool and Swansea are starting new seasons with new Managers and new starting lineups and squads, yet somehow, unsurprisingly, you've already decided, like Mystic Meg, that Liverpools future is uncertain and will probably fail, whereas, let me guess, Swansea;s will be glorious where the club will be in Europe in the next two years. Come on now.

There is no objective fan in this country who would say staying at Swansea comes anywhere near moving to Liverpool and taking your career to the next level, playing in Europe and having a higher chance of winning things than with Swansea. We were in two Cup Finals last year and won one of them, and that was with a poor Manager and Coaching team who continually picked crap players. This season with better players and a better Manager we could easily repeat that and Joe can share in that if he wants.

I'm not making out as Liverpool fan that a move to us is the be-all and end-all, currently there is a next level after us, teams like Manu, Chelsea, City who will fight it out for the Prem title every year, but a move to us, is a foot in the right direction, and is most definitely a step up from Swansea as most reasonable people would admit.

Maybe I'm wrong and there are other LFC fans who disagree with me about where we are as a club, but I'd be surprised if any of them didn't think a move to us from Swansea was a pretty big step up career wise and football wise.

One final point. We played "the swansea way" ever since the 60s when Shankly come across it in European games and ripped it off and implemented it in England. We were one of, if not the, first teams in Britain to play this way. So Brendan is trying to get us to play like Swansea, he's restoring Liverpool to play the traditional Liverpool and boot room way. Its a return to our identity as a club.

I'm telling you know as a Liverpool fan who knows our players and their performances insode out, if Allen signs for us, he'll be the first name on the team sheet every week along side Lucas. He will play every game without a doubt and Rodgers knows that.

This idea he'll hardly play at Liverpool is a myth based on people clutching at straws. Our midfield besides Lucas is **** and Gerrards best days are well and truly behind him.

Because thats Brendans prefered way to play and his philosophy on football and how it should be played.

You sound really bitter and attributing meaning to a nothing quote because of your bitterness and anger.

We finsihed higer than you last season. And that was during the worst season performance wise since the 50s for us yet we still finsihed higher than you with those players and our supposed crappy way of playing.

Since our approach got us a higher points return over the 38 games compared to the Swansea way, maybe Brendan should just be tweeking the way we play rather than overhauling it.

If playing the Swansea way means only getting the amount of points you did last season then you can keep it.
