One of my oldest friends is a very senior Boeing-rated instructor and examiner, one of very few in the country with his qualifications and experience. He says that although there were issues that Boeing should have addressed and handled differently, ultimately the pilots should have been able to get out of it, and therefore unfortunately there was an element of pilot error from everything he had read and discussed, and believe me he's been into immense detail on this subject for obvious reasons.
Anyway, I was actually referring to the Boeing space programme, fraught with problems, sound familiar?!
